**Self-Reflection Journey: Ladies Own Transport Services, Empowerment and Resilience**

Four days into Women’s Month 2024, I continue to reflect on my journey as founder of Ladies Own Transport Services (LOTS). From starting the Only All-Female driving school in 2018 to now, the path has been filled with both triumphs and trials, teaching me invaluable lessons about empowerment and independence.

*Taking Chances and Being Fearless*
Launching LOTS required a willingness to take risks and be fearless. To all women entrepreneurs: embrace uncertainty. It’s in those moments of doubt that we discover our true strength.

*Grace in Losses and Successes*
The entrepreneurial journey is a blend of victories and setbacks. Learning to accept losses gracefully is as crucial as celebrating successes. Every challenge is a stepping stone to growth and resilience.

*Breaking Through Norms*
To rise above, we must challenge societal norms. This requires determination and sometimes standing alone. Push boundaries, and create spaces of power and influence for future generations.

*Facing Adversaries*
Expect adversaries who judge based on hearsay. Though painful, these moments teach us to stand firm in our truth. Let them motivate you to rise higher and stay focused on your mission.

*Innovation and Satisfaction*

***Breaking News from LOTS: Safety on the Road for Women’s Month 2024!***

We are beyond thrilled to announce a transformative Safety Plan aimed at ensuring the visible security and protection of LOTS, the ONLY ALL-FEMALE DRIVING SCHOOL instructors, and students. This vital initiative, known as "Eyes on our Women," is a collaboration between LOTS founder and Gender Activist Joanie Fredericks and RT ZONE founder Redaa Ameeroedien. These two visionary leaders have a long history of impactful initiatives within the Tafelsig community.

With the rising number of hijackings and violent attacks targeting women on the roads and our police force being overwhelmed and under-resourced, Joanie and Redaa have once again stepped up to make a difference rather than waiting for government intervention, they are taking proactive steps to ensure the safety of our women.

For the entire duration of Women's Month, RT ZONE will provide safety through increased visibility wherever LOTS Driving Instructors are conducting training sessions.

This initiative holds a special place in our hearts, especially since our very own Chief Specialist Instructor, "YSTERVROU" Eileen, has survived three terrifying hijacking attempts.

We refuse to stand by and risk another similar incident without taking action.

We are proud to lead the charge in addressing this critical issue and hope that more partners will join us in this remarkable initiative. We also extend an invitation to other driving schools in Mitchells Plain to recognize the immense value of proactively protecting their instructors and students.
