Nompumelelo Buy Back Centre Launch | 2026 | Buffalo City

Polyco proudly announces the launch of the Nompumelelo Buy Back Centre in Nompumelelo Township, a Packa-Ching supported initiative strengthening community recycling, job creation and circular economy development in the Eastern Cape.

Since 2019, in partnership with Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality, the Border-Kei Chamber of Business and the Buffalo City Development Agency, Polyco has invested over R9.8 million into the region’s recycling sector. Together, we have reduced landfill pressure by diverting 550 tons of recyclables per month, transforming waste into economic opportunity.

The Nompumelelo Buy Back Centre – one of five centres supported in Buffalo City – enables residents to earn income from recyclable materials, supports local entrepreneurs, creates sustainable jobs, and ensures high-quality recyclables are fed back into the plastics value chain.

Together, we are building cleaner communities and a stronger recycling economy.
