Aircraft for Africa (AFA) was established in 2012 as an aviation online directory inventory portal. The first aviation directory in South Africa similar to that of Controller where buyers & sellers could list their aircraft requirements. Subsequently, we are involved in the sale and procurement of pre-owned aircraft locally and globally. My aviation exper
ience spans over several decades. I was part of the company (Astra) who were awarded the first distributorship in SA for Robinson and Bell Helicopters and was instrumental in importing Robinson Helicopters, Bell Helicopters, Lockheed & Smiths Industries simulators to SA. These brands have all grown exponentially throughout Southern Africa. I was involved in Business development in the sales & marketing department. I was in charge of Business Development, marketing & sales as Marketing Director for Aviation Jet Consultants during which time I was the first person to sell pre-owned Robinson helicopters in South Africa. I have also sold many turbine helicopters to high net worth individuals from Princes in Abu Dhabi to mining magnates, etc. I exported the majority of the EC 120 helicopters to overseas countries. My proudest moment was when I secured the mandate from Egypt Air to market and sell their 2 x Airbus A320-200 aircraft. I facilitated the sale of these to an airline in Turkey.
