Getting caught in the chaos of the pandemic mindset and waiting for the dust to settle is my prediction for businesses who will lag behind in the near future.
One of the most powerful keys in business is to work in the present, while always innovating for the future. Here are my 5 suggestions to prepare for the business-world ‘post-COVID’:
1. Do as much research on the current impact on your industry as possible.
2. Use the current impact to brainstorm and see where innovation is waiting to happen.
3. Don’t be quick to jump onto the bandwagon of current needs for the pandemic, if they do not relate to your industry.
4. Understand how COVID is going to impact the marketing within your industry.
5. Ensure you are not in a holding pattern and waiting for life to go back to ‘normal’, by implemented some permanent changes that you thought would be temporary.

Many corporates spend huge amounts of money annually to mitigate the effects of stress on their employees and leaders.

However, very little is done to mitigate the effects of stress on our children, inspite of numerous studies confirming the negative impact of stress on our youth.

If we want to ensure that we have resilient business leaders tomorrow, we have to look after and futureproof our youth today.
We cannot allow the children of 2020 to be referred to as the lost generation of Covid-19 in times to come.

As business leaders we have as much a responsibility to ensure that we partner with parents, schools and other relevant institutions to provide our kids with the tools required to ensure they can manage stress and mitigate its impact on them.
