Last Mile for BoP improves the distribution of affordable products and services in low-income communities by modernizing the informal grocery stores.
1. We offer a price comparison service to informal traders to help them access the cheapest bulk prices in their area.
2. We equip informal grocery stores (called spaza shops in South Africa) with Point of Sales (PoS) devices that enable them to or
der all their stock from their shops, at the best bulk prices, and have it delivered to their doorsteps.
3. We offer merchandising in-store services and live market data (collected via our PoS devices) to companies that want to target the low-income markets. We use these services to improve the distribution of social products like solar lights, clean cook stoves, sanitary pads or water filters.
4. We enable companies to use our platform and/or our logistics organization to improve the distribution of their products (online ordering, cash less payment, daily deliveries, loyalty program, etc.)
5. We provide a turnkey investment project to allow private businesses to earn points in two elements of their BEE scorecard: Enterprise and Supplier Development, and Skills Development. We are scaling up our activity to impact 3000 informal traders within 2 years.
