Whenever Iโ€™m out and about chatting to people, thereโ€™s always that moment when I ask, โ€œDo you enjoy what you do?

Does it feel meaningful?

Does it fill your cup and challenge you to grow and develop yourself and your skill set?โ€

When someone says yes, my heart soars. A relief!

But when they say no, I feel sad, because Iโ€™ve been there.

Stuck in work that youโ€™re good at, that pays the bills, but doesnโ€™t light you up.

You keep going, but inside you know somethingโ€™s missing.

There is hope though. Itโ€™s not always about making a huge change.

Sometimes itโ€™s just about awareness. When you start to understand your natural strengths and where youโ€™re adapting too much, your perspective starts to shift.

Maybe youโ€™re creative but spending your days buried in admin. Or youโ€™re people-focused but stuck in a numbers-driven role.

A small shift in how you work and how you see your natural strengths - not just doing you are good at - can make a huge difference.

Because there is light at the end of the tunnel. When you start working in alignment with who you really are, the FLOW returns ... and so does the joy.

What I wish I knew about my partner (and myself)

Someone shared this in a WhatsApp group last week
โ€œI just wish I could get my husband to do it.โ€

How many of us are living with people we love deeplyโ€ฆ and still feeling misunderstood?
We spend years trying to figure each other out.
Arguing. Withdrawing. Adapting. Tolerating.
When sometimes, all it takes is the right information.

Thatโ€™s what this work is.
A mirror.

For yourself, and for the people you share your life with. Understanding how youโ€™re wired doesnโ€™t just change how you work. It changes how you love.

Over the 30 years Iโ€™ve been doing this, Iโ€™ve seen how the people transform not only at work, but also how they connect in their relationships.

In our younger relationships, weโ€™re often drawn to our opposites. As Carl Jung described, one compensates for the weaknesses of the other. We move as a united force. But over time, those same differences can create conflict.

Have you ever wondered if you are a workaholic?

Not as a label, not as a judgment - just as a simple checkpoint.

Because sometimes what looks like โ€œbeing drivenโ€ is actually something worth pausing and looking at more closely.

Hereโ€™s a simple way to reflect on it:

**Healthy high drive for work often looks like this:**

* Work feels purposeful or chosen
* You genuinely enjoy what you do, even when itโ€™s intense
* Rest doesnโ€™t create anxiety or guilt
* Relationships, health, and basic needs still get attention
* Work is energising, not draining

**A more workaholic pattern can look like this:**

* Feeling uneasy, guilty, or restless when not working
* Struggling to stop, even when youโ€™ve planned to
* Using work to avoid stress, emotions, or other areas of life
* Others occasionally expressing concern about your availability or presence

This isnโ€™t about right or wrong.

Itโ€™s for the people who are deeply driven, deeply connected to their work, or who simply feel very good about themselves when they are working and producing. Sometimes thatโ€™s passion. Sometimes itโ€™s identity. Sometimes itโ€™s a pattern worth gently checking in on.

So hereโ€™s a simple โ€œCheckpoint Charlieโ€ question:

No need to overanalyse it. Just notice where you tend to sit more often.

Discovering purpose is not one definitive โ€œahaโ€ moment. There are moments of clear sense, where direction feels obvious and aligned, and then there are moments of uncertainty and lostness.

In those times, I look toward people I admire.

At present, that includes those who are creating animal sanctuaries, giving voice and care to beings who do not have one of their own.

It includes friends who are building businesses and generously sharing their knowledge, experience, and support with others.

It is also present in friendships where love, courage, and presence are held through difficult seasons. And I see it in my family, particularly my father, who in his 80s continues to exercise, work, and seek ways to contribute meaningfully.

Purpose, then, is not a fixed destination or a single defining goal. It is an evolving process ... a continual unfolding of what the next level of growth, contribution, and expression is within a life.

A MAJOR frustration Iโ€™ve too often felt in my business - the dreaded bottleneck - and yet, when itโ€™s time to delegate, I think: โ€œI ๐˜ฎ๐˜ช๐˜จ๐˜ฉ๐˜ต ๐˜ข๐˜ด ๐˜ธ๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ๐˜ญ ๐˜ซ๐˜ถ๐˜ด๐˜ต ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฐ ๐˜ช๐˜ต ๐˜ฎ๐˜บ๐˜ด๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ๐˜ง."

I tell myself Iโ€™m saving time, but I end up stuck doing everything.

One of the biggest shifts in my business has been bringing the right people in.

I recently onboarded a new team member - a VA. When I saw her "Onboarding Welcome Booklet', I noticed her talent for design and marketing copy. She brought care, energy, and initiative.

For the first time, Iโ€™m embracing the possibility of a four-day work week @ 4 - 5 hours a day! Recently, Iโ€™ve travelled more than ever. Having this much free time feels unfamiliar. (I'm waiting to pay the price!)

The truth is, Iโ€™ve worked harder than ever since moving from Jhb to Cape Town, building an online business. BUT what Iโ€™ve been able to subtract has shifted alot:

๐Ÿ˜ฉDoing all the design myself
๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ’จThinking I have to figure everything out alone
๐Ÿ˜ฌBelieving I need to be good at everything

This shift has allowed me to SEE more clearly and BE more confident.

Instead of 10-hour days, ending in frustration and exhaustion, Iโ€™m creating space .. to think, to contribute meaningfully, and to design the life I actually want.

Iโ€™m learning to give from a place of generosity, not depletion. To build a business that empowers myself as well as others.

What a week ....๐ŸŒโœจ

Lots of travel from working in Stellenbosch running a 2 day workshop to visiting Scarborough, to viewing my new home in Kommetjie, to Simonโ€™s Townโ€ฆ behind the โ€œlentil curtainโ€ and enjoying the magic along the way.

And then, the most beautiful surpriseโ€ฆ

I was gifted a ticket to the Cape Town International Jazz Festival by my fabulous friend Luc Albinski . Someone Iโ€™ve known for five years through Pilates, yoga, weights, cardio and so much more. I teach Luc on Tuesday's and Wednesday at 6:30am, keeping ourselves adventure-fit๐Ÿ˜„).

Weโ€™d been chatting about how jazz is truly music for the soulโ€ฆ and in a moment where I was feeling a little flat, a little low ... this was the lift I didnโ€™t even know I needed.

So here we are, the 28th of March, dressed up, soaking in incredible music, surrounded by beautiful humans โ€” my friend Sagren visiting from KZN, Luc and Christel, enjoying the Cape Town nightlife.
