🔧 This position is for a qualified Engineer with 10 years’ experience gained in a manufacturing environment. The position is based in Cape Town and all South African Engineers with suitable experience can apply.

Join a dynamic and leading paper manufacturing plant as an Operations Manager, overseeing the efficient and safe functioning of the Converting Factory in Bellville. This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the General Manager – Coastal, ideal for a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in production excellence, continuous improvement, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the converting team to meet productivity, quality, safety, and cost targets

Drive continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and high-performance culture

Ensure engineering and maintenance best practices are upheld

Manage budgets (OPEX & CAPEX), cost controls, and reporting

Implement and maintain SHEQ standards

Oversee quality assurance and customer compliance

Mentor and develop cross-functional teams

Minimum Requirements:

BSc / B-Tech / National Diploma in Engineering or BTech in Pulp and Paper

Minimum 10 years’ experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior management role

Hands-on exposure in the paper or tissue industry highly beneficial

Strong project management and risk management abilities

Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
