On Thursday, 17th October CSquared and L’Oréal Men Expert hosted a fashion show and voting party to celebrate the PUBLIC VOTING stage of the CSquared Style Icon Search Groomed by campaign.
The best of TV, print and online media, VIP guests and celebrities were ushered into Rosebank’s upmarket SET Lounge and enjoyed sipping on custom cocktails made from new Royale Bianco and Royale – Rosato all night.
Film crews from V Entertainment, Hashtag 7, Belmont Media, PRTV, Good Morning Africa & Bonngoe TV covered the highlights of the event getting the scoop on menswear trends and what is . Reps from Sunday World, SAbloggers, The Dossier, Complex Magazine and prominent bloggers such as Felipe Mazibuko and Mahlatse James were also spotted.
Celebs who love, wear and support CSquared were in full attendance; we spotted Selimathunzi Presenter and ladies man Lunga Shabalala wearing a crisp dark blue jacket. Charismatic news presenter William Le Hong attended as a guest judge for the event for input on the JOZI finalists, looking dapper and sleek in this season’s CSquared Orange suit and checked shirt. archetype and CSquared ambassador Danilo Acquisto from Hectic Nine 9 was in attendance to promote the campaign as well as model in the capsule range preview of CSquared’s Summer 2014 Resort collection.
When asked about the collection and upcoming menswear trends CSquared designer Wayne Govender commented: “The floral revolution in menswear is the perfect case in point. CSquared reinvents this eye-catching style with a contemporary cut and a new wave of bold patterns and colour combinations.”
Ofcourse we also had to ask Wayne how we should style this trend and incorporate it into our summer holiday wardrobes: “A confident and effortless way to add a healthy dose of summer inspiration to your wardrobe, for the following season we entice you with, well-cut floral printed shirts that will make a stylish holiday companion when paired with tailored shorts, or worn to casual summer gatherings with slim-fit chinos and leather sandals. CSquared developed a modern Hawaiian shirt, with micro-print florals which makes it easier to capture the trend for those who want to take a more subtle approach to a high summer of floral decadence.”
He then went on to point out what the must-have items of this season are: “CSquared has adapted florals into tailoring with all-over prints and a splash of paisley, to add to this craze, embroidered brightly coloured button holes to embellish blazer lapels are key features this coming season.”
’s official celebrity judge Kuli Roberts looked sophisticated and fabulous in a Carducci Woman floral pantsuit, and as always was the life of the party while she eyed out her favourite entrants.
As the evening progressed guests moved and jammed to the impeccably dress duo from METRO FM Dj Naves and SPHECTACULAR. Model and Actor Stevel Marc MC’d and introduced the fashion show showcasing CSquared’s Summer 2014 Resort Range.
After some choice words from Mark Gooding (HOM head of brands) and Kay Matseba (L’Oréal SA Group head of products) on the success of the campaign - where over 200 stylish men entered to be part of the Finalists round - the 17 JOZI finalists were introduced for the first time and took to the ramp in a high-energy display to their personality, personal style & .
Guests were reminded that now that these finalists were selected and have won the judges approval, PUBLIC VOTING will determine which of the TOP27 finalists will be voted into the FINAL 3. VOTING has opened to the public here, click LIKE to vote for your favourite finalist.
