On 5 March, Business Academy and EduServe presented a Basic Small Business Management workshop to 30 Early Childhood Development (ECD) centre owners, principals, and teachers associated with Early Start Development in Blue Downs. This was the first in a series of seven (7) workshops curated to bring about a significant shift in how ECD centres are managed. The workshop focussed on evaluating performance, the neurological patterns that produce poor results, understanding systems, resource management, and basic principles of finance. This high-energy workshop was characterised by laughter, solving real challenges, evaluating performance, lots of discussions, and a prize for one lucky ECD owner. A blessed and prosperous new year awaits you. Today, being the 2nd day of the new year, you have 363 days left in which you can choose what the rest of your life looks like. Are you going to be average, repeating pretty much what you have done in the previous years, or are you going to rocket into a new dimension, breaking new ground outside of your comfort zone? Are you willing to stop making excuses and blaming “who knows what” for your circumstances? Are you willing to do something meaningful – become something meaningful – that will greatly impact the community around you? Why not become part of the three percent of the population that write down their goals for the year? Writing down some goals and pursuing them could change your life, and the lives of numerous others, forever.

Did you know that numerous studies have shown that only three percent of the population set goals and only about one percent actually write them down. Successful people are the ones who spend time articulating clear and specific goals, they write these goals down as detailed plans of action, they work on their goals daily, and review their goals periodically. So, how about you? Will this coming year be another year on the treadmill or surviving or will 2024 be your year of purpose? Come on set some goals and make 2024 count for something.
