Scammers evolve. Sis Thandi has evolved with them.

She returns with a more sophisticated look, a cinematic new visual world and her own studio—while remaining the same recognisable character audiences know and trust.

LucidState developed the character and production system behind that evolution, combining responsible AI production, performance direction and detailed post-production craft.

Meet Sis Thandi.

Capitec's illustrated anti-scam ambassador and familiar radio personality needed to become a believable on-camera host. Starting with one illustration, LucidState developed her into a recognisable, expressive character and built the production system behind a ten-episode video series.

The challenge was consistency. Every shot needed to feel like the same Sis Thandi—her appearance, personality and performance—while still giving her enough expression and movement to feel alive. We combined character development, responsible AI production and detailed post-production craft to bring her to screen.

Next: how Sis Thandi has evolved for Season 2.

One illustrated anti-scam ambassador became the host of a ten-episode AI podcast and its promo campaign.

LucidState has a new home.

We started in Cape Town in 2006, with our roots firmly in post-production. That foundation is still here: editing, motion design, 2D and 3D animation, VFX, compositing, cleanup, colour and finishing.

The studio has grown around that craft. We now get involved earlier in the idea, use AI where it genuinely improves the production, and build focused software around problems we have encountered ourselves.

Our new website brings those parts together: creative, post-production, responsible AI and the production tools we are building inside the studio.

There are 15 recent projects to explore, including Sis Thandi for Capitec, the 2026 Thanksalot Sale, Cheetos, Pick n Pay and Etihad.

We would genuinely appreciate your feedback—especially anything that feels unclear, slow or difficult to find.
