A proud moment for CPGR. A stronger partnership for South Africa’s bioeconomy. 🧬
Some engagements are more than a meeting. They are an opportunity to reflect on how far you’ve come, demonstrate what your work makes possible, and align on what comes next.
On 13 October, CPGR had the honour of welcoming the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA) Board and Executive Committee, together with representatives from the Department of Science,Technology and Innovation SA (DSTI), to our Cape Town facility.
Our team showcased the breadth of our Multi-OMICS scientific expertise and specialised infrastructure that make CPGR a national technology platform.
But this visit was about more than the science. It was about the people behind it, the impact of continued investment, and the shared ambition to advance South Africa’s research, innovation and bioeconomy.
We had meaningful conversations about the challenges facing South African science, the opportunities ahead, and how we can work together to develop practical solutions and strengthen our partnership. Just as importantly, the delegation had the opportunity to see firsthand what TIA’s continued support has helped enable.
We concluded with a shared sense of pride in who we are, the role we play in South Africa’s science and innovation ecosystem, and our mandate to advance the bioeconomy.
We thank TIA and DSTI for their continued support and for investing in the capabilities that help move South African science forward. We value this partnership and look forward to building on it with a shared commitment to scientific excellence, innovation and meaningful impact.
The science matters. The infrastructure matters. And so does the partnership that makes it possible.
