INTERIOR FINISHES IN THE CORPORATE WORLD
It’s time to ‘go green’ at work!
There is a worldwide trend to become more environmentally friendly in our personal lives as well as in our professional and working environments. In the work space we can aim to promote the sustainable use of resources, save energy and create a healthier working environment which leads to greater productivity. By being more energy efficient and eco-friendly we will increase our enjoyment of the workplace and lessen its impact on the environment as a whole.
Sustainability in modern office buildings has evolved to include systems that limit energy consumption, include more natural light, expand recycling programs and support the use of renewable materials. Many businesses are using natural and sustainable materials in the décor and furnishing of their workplaces, in support of these corporate values and environmental awareness. Panda Bamboo is a supplier of natural, eco-friendly interior décor products. Their range of solid bamboo boards, panels and flooring is made from sustainably harvested bamboo, and their beautiful Cocomosaic wall tiles are made from coconut shells and timber products that are by-products of other industries.
Nando’s and Seattle, for example, are two of the latest business groups specifying Cocomosaic tiles for many of their new and revamped restaurants across the country. Cocomosaic has also been used for visual impact in corporate offices, hotels, retail stores and even universities. The warm, textured look of the Cocomosaic tiles make a bold visual statement as well as being environmentally friendly. The tiles are all made from coconut-shell, mahogany bark or reclaimed timer mosaic pieces which are all bonded together. These are all natural materials and by-products of other industries which would normally all have been discarded. Only water based, low emission glues, lacquers and paints have been used in the manufacturing process.
