Robyn Scott is Queen Elizabeth in SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE!
Robyn matriculated from Johannesburg Art, Ballet, Drama and Music School and came home to study Drama at UCT; she graduated in 1995 with a Performers Diploma.
She has worked across the board in theatre, television and film for the last 20 years.
Her Highlights include: playing Elizabeth 1 in Dario Fo's 'Elizabeth 1-Almost by Chance a Womanโ directed by Christopher Weare. She played the 60-year-old queen when she was 22 and won Best Actress and Best New Comer at the 1997 Vita Awards.
Another is playing the 86 year old Rosa Kaplowitz in Nicholas Spagnolettiโs 'London Road' when she was 36, which toured South Africa for 4 years and went to the Edinburgh Festival in 2013 and where Robyn won Best Actress - The Stage Award. She is the first South African actor to win this award. She also won Best Actress at the 2010 Fleur du Cap Awards and Best Actress at the 2011 Naledi Awards for this role.
She was last seen on TV playing one of the lead roles, Marlene Heinkel, in the mockumentary 'Those Who Canโt'-SABC3, she won her 1st SAFTA award in 2016 for Best Actress in a lead role-TV Comedy.
Being a Voice Artist and Coaching Actors on Accent work both privately and at UCT Drama school, Afda and Act is her bread and butter.
After four years of not being on stage, Robyn is honoured to be treading the boards at the Fugard Theatre and wearing the crown of her favourite Queen, Good Queen Bess.
