Press Play on our stories...
This project meant a lot to me.
It wasn't a big commercial shoot or a flashy production. It was real people, real places, early mornings, long days, and a lot of listening. The kind of job where you forget you're working, because you're too busy paying attention to people and their stories.
We spent time with rural fishing communities in the Eastern Cape documenting their story, their livelihoods, and their fight for fishing rights. One of the poorest regions in the world, and some of the most dignified, resilient people I've ever had the privilege of pointing a camera at.
Some projects you finish and move on. This wasn't one of those. This one stayed with me. It reminded me why I picked up a camera in the first place not for fancy shots, but to tell stories that feel honest and human.
I'm really proud of this film. Proud of the people in it. Proud that I got to be there. Proud of what we made together.
