🔥 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦. 𝟰,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗛𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗦. 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗘. 🔥

Our 𝗦𝗝𝗖 𝗧𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 took on the 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱, 𝗦𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘁 & 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 (𝗕𝗦𝗧) 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 at Gecko Rock in the Karoo… a competition that puts tactical ability, physical endurance and mental resilience to the ultimate test.

Spanning 𝟰,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗵𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 of rugged wilderness, the BST Challenge combines 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲-𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲…with every stage scored and ranked.

Competitors move through the Karoo carrying their equipment while tackling demanding terrain, climbing, descending and completing physical tasks before putting their shooting skills to the test.

From 𝗿𝘂𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱-𝗯𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗸𝘀 to demanding shooting stages, every part of the competition required focus, control and determination.

With fatigue setting in, maintaining 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀, 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆, 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 became just as important as physical strength.

For our officers, this was an opportunity to 𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘀, test their tactical capabilities and experience what it takes to perform under pressure.

🚨 𝗦𝗨𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗗𝗘𝗧𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗗 𝗔𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗦𝗘𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗜𝗡 𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗩𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗘 🚨

📍 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 | 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗯𝘀

A suspected 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 resulted in a suspect being apprehended and handed over to SAPS following a coordinated response by SJC Security officers.

Responding officers arrived at a residential property in Goya Street after receiving a report of suspicious activity and discovered 𝗮 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗿𝘀, indicating signs of forced entry.

A suspect was located inside the property and was detained after initially resisting officers. The suspect later 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀. SJC officers immediately pursued the suspect, who attempted to escape by jumping over multiple walls.

The pursuit continued through the surrounding area before officers successfully 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗸𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and returned him to the scene. During a search, officers recovered a 𝗯𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀 believed to have been removed from the damaged window.

𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗔𝗣𝗦 attended the scene, and the suspect was 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗔𝗣𝗦 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

🚨 𝗡𝟮 𝗦𝗠𝗔𝗦𝗛-𝗔𝗡𝗗-𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗕: 𝗦𝗝𝗖 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗦 🚨

📍N2 Highway

A routine site visit quickly turned into an active response for the 𝗦𝗝𝗖 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 when the team noticed an individual running from the 𝗡𝟮 highway towards the bridge near Airport Landing Strip.

The officers immediately responded, following the individual before continuing the pursuit on foot. The suspect subsequently stopped and surrendered to the officers.

The team returned to the N2, where they met with the reported victim of a 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝘀𝗵-𝗮𝗻𝗱-𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗯 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁, who was accompanied by two Traffic Officers. A 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝟮𝟱 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲 had reportedly been taken from the victim's vehicle.🤳

The cellphone was subsequently located in the possession of the detained suspect and was 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝘁.

The suspect was handed over to 𝗡𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗦𝗔𝗣𝗦 for further investigation and the appropriate legal process.
