FISHERMAN’S BEND — AND IT’S ONLY MID-WEEK! 👀😂
It’s been a BUSY week on site… and somehow, it’s only mid-week! 🫣
Site meetings ✔️
Removing windows and doors ✔️
Bricking up ✔️
Core drilling ✔️
Rubble, rubble and MORE rubble ✔️
Main bedroom & bathroom strip-out underway ✔️
Pool stripping ✔️
Deliveries everywhere ✔️
More scaffolding ✔️
Traffic chaos ✔️
A ridiculous amount of steps climbed ✔️😂
And thankfully… lots of laughter in between!
Right now it’s all hands on deck getting as much preparation done as possible because next week Fisherman’s Bend steps up several gears. 👀😱
The suppliers and specialist teams start coming onto site, the different trades start overlapping, and this already busy site is about to become a whole different kind of busy. 🫣🤣
For now… prep, prep and MORE prep! 💪🔨

🏗️ IT’S TIME TO PROPERLY INTRODUCE… FISHERMAN’S BEND! 👀
We’ve shared a few snippets since starting this project, but now that we’ve settled in, started opening things up and discovered the true extent of the work ahead, it’s time to show you what Design Factor has taken on.
This is a four-storey home with one KILLER view and when we say this is a full renovation, we mean FULL.
5 bedrooms, all en-suite
Gym
PJ lounge
Entertainment bar
Lounge & living room
Sauna room with guest bathroom
Laundry
2 storerooms
2 live-in quarters
Pool with rim-flow system
Existing double garage PLUS a new double garage
3 decks
And a massive 200m² upper deck
Once we started opening up the house, the extent of the waterproofing failures, moisture ingress and concealed damage became very clear affecting areas throughout the home and turning an already substantial renovation into a major gut and rebuild.
There honestly won’t be much in this house that we won’t touch — floors, walls, ceilings, waterproofing, decks, pool, bathrooms, living spaces… the works!
We’ll be tackling this monster in phases, with December already staring at us from the calendar. 👀🤣
One Design Factor team with Black Pearl , one enormous house and a LOT of work ahead.
