I'm Louis-John van Dalen better know to my friends as Al-Jay and this is my reasons why I think that I'm the best man and company for this job. Firstly we at Sigma Vip Security have a hunger for this industry because it's something we've carved out of this life and world for ourselves in this industry, from paying my dues as a Doormen and proving that in this industry it's all about people skills
and the approach you have with and towards the public that can make your job so much easier. I (L-J Van Dalen) have spent twenty years in this industry from being a Doorman to running and providing security for some of the big names in the music and entertainment industry and private sectors as well. Some of my jobs are so intense as it ranged from putting myself in the firing line literally for e.g. Looking after a family who's domestic helper was gunned down when thugs open-fired in their families convenient store which was situated in one of the roughest neighborhoods in Cape Town. Then sitting watch outside the holiday homes of one of Europe’s greatest explores namely Mr. J Regan and also accompanying European photographer Josh Cole and assisting with an on-going project with Richard Melon documenting on the Numbers Gangs in and around Cape Town. My other ventures included looking after International celebrities on tour in South Africa, such as Phat Joe, Akon and Blu Cantrell, local personalities ranging from both Radio and television. Since early 1990's I've placed myself in a position where I made contact and connection with all the right kind of people in right industries, going from being just a Doorman to becoming a Business Partner and Director of one of the leading Security company in the then Night Club industry to now owning one. At first a lot of thought went into this as it could not be just another security company it should stand for something more than just another local boy owning a company so the name had to be right and after a lot head banging my childhood friend Craig Rushin and I came up with the concept name of "Sigma" which means "the combination of all forces" just like our services which was a lot of time off the book kind of jobs and ranged wide spread kind of clientele. With these kind of request from my clients I needed a special kind of staff that could and would handle things delicately and discreetly with services ranging from escorting large some of undisclosed amounts of monies to collecting drugged up C.E.O's from brothels and delivering safely home. With these request my staff had to be people I could trust with my own life and so they are, all of my staff are handpicked from being the best at what they do and at what I need them to do, they range from currently working for SAPS and MP close guarding and most of my staff has been by my side for more than eight years, of which some have been trained and groomed by Craig Rushin and myself as they have started with us from their late teens years on casual bases starting out with securing functions and events like "teen rock concerts" at Wynberg Sport's club and The "Christian Youth Days" at Camps Bay United Church. Most of my "Sigma VIP Security's" staff is registered with "PSIRA" Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority. Yes I said most and not all as I've seen and experienced that all one requires in this industry can't be learned from a hand-book but through on the job experience and one needs to be a special kind of breed of a man or woman that need to do the things we are required to do at times. This is what I do, this is what I am, this is what I made for myself and of my life and if your requirements are out of my reach just give me an opportunity and I'll show you how I take on that challenge and go beyond the call of duty and with this quality that I have and share with my staff and with a motto of "FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE" we will grow and that's why I think "SIGMA VIP SECURITY" is the company for you.
