Bat eared fox at Koro River Camp , Botswana

Most people look into the darkness for predators. Mosa was watching the ground.

Bat-eared foxes are not a sighting every game reserve can offer.
At Koro River Camp in Central Tuli, guests see them regularly on night drives, and right now, there are cubs.

This fox was using its oversized ears to locate termites and other insects beneath the soil and grass.

That is what makes a Koro night drive different. It is not a race from one headline animal to the next. There is time to notice a rare species working the ground, what is moving in the grass and what sits just beyond the beam of the spotlight.

Amazing photography in an amazing place - Koro River Camp, Tuli

The warm, dusty air of Central Tuli emphasizes the severity of drought that has gripped the land and like a large python, squeezes the life from its victims. Flames of dust dominate the landscape, swallowing everything in its path. The land and animals patiently wait for the first rains, every day is a day closer to salvation and relief, but until then how many will fall into the jaws of starvation or hunted in darkness.
