PROACTIVE PATROLS PAY OFF IN PLUMSTEAD!
Early this morning around 04h30, Zone Security Response Officer Zulu1, was conducting routine patrols along Victoria Road when he spotted a female suspiciously loitering at the corner of Victoria and Princess Vlei Roads.

Trusting his instincts, The Officer stopped to investigate and quickly discovered she was acting as a lookout for an accomplice. A quick search of the immediate area revealed a second suspect hiding inside a nearby drain—carrying two bags filled with freshly cut copper cable.
He then immediately detained both individuals and called for official backup. Law Enforcement promptly arrived on scene and took custody of both suspects along with the stolen property.

TEAM ZONE STRIKES AGAIN: 4 ROBBERY SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN OTTERY!
Quick action, seamless communication, and zero room for escape—that’s how Zone Security keeps our community safe.

Early yesterday morning around 06:00 AM, our team received an urgent tip from vigilant members of the public: a mugging was in progress right in front of Bowler Plastics on Harris Drive. What happened next was a textbook example of a fast, coordinated response:

06:00 AM Callout:
T1 immediately requested backup from Z1 to track down the four suspects.

Tactical Containment:
Spotting the group hiding along the canal side behind Bowler Plastics, Z1 strategically cut off the Ottery Main Road escape route while instructing T1 to secure the bridge leading toward the flats.

Cornered:
Backed up by Z3, our units closed in, trapping all four suspects right in the middle of the field before they could slip away.

SAPS Handover: Control immediately alerted SAPS and Law Enforcement, who arrived on scene to take all four individuals into custody.

A massive thank you to the alert community members who raised the alarm, to SAPS for their swift arrival, and to our dedicated Zone officers (T1, Z1, and Z3) for their sharp eyes and rapid teamwork.

HEROES IN ACTION: DEDICATION TO OUR COMMUNITY
On Tuesday evening, our Zone Security team proved once again how far they’re willing to go to keep our neighbourhoods safe.

When a Pluto Road resident alerted our Control Room to suspected intruders on her roof, officers Z1, Z2, and Z3 rushed to the scene within minutes. During a swift pursuit on the property, Officer Lindani (Z3) took a serious fall through a carport roof. In a incredible display of teamwork, a fellow officer on the ground acted instantly to help break his fall.

Zone Operations Manager Samantha quickly arrived on scene to administer first aid until paramedics arrived transported Officer Lindani for emergency care, while SAPS arrived on scene to take the two young (12-year-old) intruders, who had entered the house through a window into custody.

We are relieved and overjoyed to share that following thorough hospital checks, Officer Lindani was cleared with no broken bones or severe injuries! He is now resting safely at home.

Incidents like this remind us of the real risks our response teams take every single day to protect your families. We couldn't be prouder of Officer Lindani’s bravery, the rapid teamwork displayed by officers on scene, and the swift coordination with SAPS.

Outstanding Catch by Our Zone Response Team!
Early this morning around 2:00 AM, our Zone Response Unit TAC1 was on active patrol in Ferndale Road, Ottery Industrial, when he spotted two suspicious males. Acting on quick thinking and sharp intuition, he stopped to question them and discovered a spade alongside specialized cable-cutting tools in their possession.

Upon checking their details against the wanted persons registry, both individuals came back with active warrants of arrest!

SAPS was immediately dispatched to the scene, and both suspects were taken into custody to face their outstanding charges.

This is a powerful example of the proactive, vigilant decision-making our team brings to the community every single day to keep our streets safe. A huge shoutout and job well done to TAC1, as well as TAC2 for providing swift backup! Shielding our community, together.

COMMUNITY SUCCESS: Rapid Response & Great Teamwork!
We’ve got two fantastic updates from our dedicated Zone Response Officers to share with you today—proving once again the incredible power of monitored security and community collaboration!

1️⃣ Live Camera Alert Leads to Fast Property Recovery (Doig Rd, Wetton)
In the early hours of this morning, our control room received a live alert from a client's monitored camera system showing intruders on their premises in Doig Road, Wetton.

Our Zone response units were dispatched immediately. The suspects managed to make a quick exit before units hit the driveway, but our officers didn't stop there. Guided step-by-step by our camera controller, our team tracked the suspects toward Hanover Park. After a brief chase, the suspects panicked, dropped all the stolen items, and fled into the neighborhood.

Result: Every single piece of stolen property was recovered and safely returned to our client!

2️⃣ Joint Action Stops Cable Thieves (Plumstead)
Teamwork makes the dream work! Following a community security group alert regarding active cable theft, our officers responded alongside local service providers to Exeter and Waterbury Roads in Plumstead.

Upon arrival, officers caught two suspects red-handed, still in possession of a massive section of cable believed to belong to the PRASA Railway network. Both suspects were swiftly detained and handed over to Law Enforcement for arrest.

PROACTIVE MONITORING & FAST RESPONSE IN WYNBERG
When cutting-edge technology meets swift boots on the ground, crime doesn't stand a chance!

Late Thursday night at 23:46, a camera alert on our Zone Live Monitoring platform flagged suspicious activity at a client’s premises on Constantia Main Road, Wynberg. Our alert controller Sheldon immediately picked up two figures loitering by the complex gate and dispatched response officer Elrige on the Zulu2 response unit to investigate.

While maintaining visual on the live feed, Sheldon watched as one suspect removed a light fixture from the boundary wall while his accomplice attempted to detach a second. Thanks to perfect timing and seamless communication, Zulu2 pulled up right on cue—catching the duo red-handed with the stolen property! Backup unit Zulu1- officer Hoosen, arrived shortly after to assist with detaining the suspects until SAPS arrived on scene to take them into custody. A formal case has since been opened.

This incident highlights exactly why proactive live monitoring paired with rapid armed response is such a powerful deterrent.

Honouring a legacy and serving our community.
This past Sunday morning, our Zone Security team had the privilege of assisting at the memorial service for Shwu-Ing – Liou, one of the foundational pillars and founding members of China Town, Ottery, who sadly passed away recently.

The beautiful memorial was hosted in his honor by the Ottery Biker Club, bringing together neighbours, friends, and family to pay their respects to a man who gave so much to our area.

In the true spirit of community, the event also included the distribution of food parcels to residents in need. To ensure everything ran safely and smoothly for the large turnout, our team worked hand-in-hand with SAPS and the Community Policing Forum (CPF), managing security and crowd control.

It was incredibly moving to see the community come together in such large numbers to celebrate a remarkable life. Thank you to the Ottery Biker Club, SAPS, the CPF, and everyone who attended for making this a peaceful, respectful, and impactful day.

Rest in peace, Shwu-Ing – Liou. Your legacy lives on in Ottery.
