🚨 ZONE SECURITY IN ACTION | RESPONSE & COMMUNITY SAFETY

🚔 Panic alarm response: During the week, our Control Room received a panic alarm from a local garage in Plumstead. Z2 and Z3 were dispatched, and on arrival, our officers detained a suspect allegedly found in possession of stolen items. The matter was handled in consultation with the premises management.

🤝 Working together: This week, Zone also worked alongside Law Enforcement, SAPS, Plumstead neighbourhood watch members and other security service providers in support of community safety.

Effective communication and cooperation between security role players play an important part in protecting our communities.

A thank you to our Control Room and Armed Response teams for their quick response and professionalism. 👏

🚨 CAUGHT INSIDE BEFORE HE COULD GET AWAY

Complex - Constantia Main Road, Wynberg

At 23:21, our CCTV monitoring team picked up a male suspect climbing over the electric fence and main gate of a property in Constantia Main Road.

The suspect gained entry to the property and proceeded into a garage.

Our Control Room immediately dispatched Z2 Mr Shaheed, who made contact with the client and gained access to the property. The suspect was located inside and detained, with Z1 and Z3 Mr Hoosen providing backup.

Three bags containing suspected stolen property were recovered from the premises, including boots, sandpaper, tape and other items.

The suspect was handed over to SAPS, who attended the scene after being contacted by our Control Room.

🎥 The suspect gained entry, but he did not go unnoticed.

Our CCTV operators detected his movements, our Control Room coordinated the response, and our Armed Response teams located him before he could leave the property.

Alert Control Room operators and Armed Response, leading to one suspect being apprehended. 👏🏽

With crime activity continuing to increase across our communities, staying alert and having the right response in place is more important than ever. Zone Security remains vigilant and ready to respond when it matters.

Well done to our Control Room team and Z1, Z2 and Z3 for their coordinated response.

ZONE IN ACTION: ATTEMPTED CABLE THEFT STOPPED | SIX SUSPECTS APPREHENDED

At approximately 01:47, our Control Room received a call from Princeton Security, alerting us that their security guard had spotted a group of males digging near the entrance of a business in Ottery.

The activity raised concerns that the group may have been attempting to access underground cabling.

T1 was dispatched immediately, with the T2 response vehicle moving in as backup. On arrival, T1 spotted six suspects in the area and maintained observation while additional support was en route.

T1 moved to Percy Road to contain the area, while T2 positioned on Clifford Road. Z1 and Z3 officers were also dispatched to assist.

The suspects attempted to make their way through a gap near the canal, but our teams were already closing in.

Six suspects were apprehended behind Nutec near the canal.

Additional support was requested, with Metro Police attending the scene. The six suspects were taken by Metro Police to the SAPS station, where our officers provided statements.

The attempted cable theft was stopped before the suspects could get away with the cable.

This incident is another example of what happens when security teams communicate, respond quickly and work together.

A report comes in.

Our teams move.

The area gets contained.

The suspects don't get far.

That is response in action.

WHEN OUR CAMERAS SEE IT, WE MOVE.

In the early hours of the morning at 04:12, our CCTV operators picked up a male on camera entering Vernon Road from the Whitby Road direction, carrying a 6 ft aluminium A frame ladder.

Our Control Room immediately dispatched our Z2 and Z1 response vehicles. The suspect was tracked and located in Gabriel Road, heading towards the flats, where he was detained by our officers.

When questioned about where he got the ladder, he claimed he had borrowed it for a painting job. Our Armed Response officers were not convinced by his explanation and continued to establish where the ladder had come from.

While he was still detained, another SSP arrived and confirmed that the ladder had been taken from their client's property in Constantia Main Road. The suspect then admitted to jumping the fence and stealing it.

Our Control Room contacted SAPS, and he was handed over to SAPS.

This is exactly why our night time CCTV monitoring matters. One camera, alert operators and two fast response officers stopped a theft in progress and ensured the suspect was handed over to SAPS.

Well done to our CCTV operators and to Z1 and Z2 for a sharp, coordinated response.

Ladders, tools and equipment left outside are an easy target. Lock them away at night, and if you see something suspicious, report it.

CELEBRATING HERITAGE THROUGH COMMUNITY & KINDNESS!
Earlier today, the true spirit of Heritage Day came alive in our streets!

A well-known community benefactor reached out to Zone Security with a special request: to accompany and es**rt them as they spent the day dishing out warm meals to those less fortunate in areas like Pelican Park and Parkwood.

Heritage Day is all about celebrating who we are and what unites us. Today reminded us that the greatest heritage we can share is the spirit of Ubuntu—looking out for one another and uplifting our neighbours.

We are incredibly proud to be associated with such profound acts of kindness. It was an absolute honour for our team to play a small role in ensuring this much-needed resource safely reached the hearts of our community.

Thank you to our local hero for leading the way, and to our dedicated officers for keeping the operation safe. Together, we build a stronger, safer, and more caring community!

WHEN A COMMUNITY STANDS TOGETHER, CRIME DOESN’T STAND A CHANCE
On Tuesday evening at 21h46, an alert was shared in one of our community security groups: three males had been spotted walking along Wetton Road carrying a traffic light, near the corner of Rosemead Avenue.

A concerned resident raised the alarm — and our Zone Security response team immediately went into action. Our Z1 response officer responded to the location and encountered two of the suspects further up the street. He detained them while calling for backup. Z3 and a supporting SSP arrived shortly afterwards, and the third suspect was also located and detained.

SAPS and Law Enforcement was contacted and arrived on scene with a trailer to safely remove the traffic light. The three suspects were subsequently arrested for attempted theft.

Well, done to the resident who noticed something suspicious and took the time to report it, our Zone Security officers for the fast, coordinated response, and the SSP that supported them. This is another example of what can happen when a community stays alert, communicates and works together.

SEE SOMETHING. SAY SOMETHING.

Your information can make the difference. Our job is to respond.
At Zone Security, we believe security is more than simply responding to alarms — it's about being an active part of the communities we protect.

PROACTIVE PATROLS PAY OFF IN PLUMSTEAD!
Early this morning around 04h30, Zone Security Response Officer Zulu1, was conducting routine patrols along Victoria Road when he spotted a female suspiciously loitering at the corner of Victoria and Princess Vlei Roads.

Trusting his instincts, The Officer stopped to investigate and quickly discovered she was acting as a lookout for an accomplice. A quick search of the immediate area revealed a second suspect hiding inside a nearby drain—carrying two bags filled with freshly cut copper cable.
He then immediately detained both individuals and called for official backup. Law Enforcement promptly arrived on scene and took custody of both suspects along with the stolen property.

Why Proactive Security Matters: The early hours of the morning are prime time for criminal activity, as low visibility and quiet streets give perpetrators a false sense of security. Our officers stay actively mobile during these vulnerable hours to intercept crime before it impacts your neighbourhood.

Huge shoutout to Zulu1 for his sharp eye and swift action!

Zone Security: Dedicated to keeping our streets safe 24/7.

TEAM ZONE STRIKES AGAIN: 4 ROBBERY SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN OTTERY!
Quick action, seamless communication, and zero room for escape—that’s how Zone Security keeps our community safe.

Early yesterday morning around 06:00 AM, our team received an urgent tip from vigilant members of the public: a mugging was in progress right in front of Bowler Plastics on Harris Drive. What happened next was a textbook example of a fast, coordinated response:

06:00 AM Callout:
T1 immediately requested backup from Z1 to track down the four suspects.

Tactical Containment:
Spotting the group hiding along the canal side behind Bowler Plastics, Z1 strategically cut off the Ottery Main Road escape route while instructing T1 to secure the bridge leading toward the flats.

Cornered:
Backed up by Z3, our units closed in, trapping all four suspects right in the middle of the field before they could slip away.

SAPS Handover: Control immediately alerted SAPS and Law Enforcement, who arrived on scene to take all four individuals into custody.

A massive thank you to the alert community members who raised the alarm, to SAPS for their swift arrival, and to our dedicated Zone officers (T1, Z1, and Z3) for their sharp eyes and rapid teamwork.

When seconds count, you can count on Zone Security to deliver results.
