I’m forever being asked about mine when I wear it. It always attracts compliments!

Sadly, there won’t be any more. The designer has moved on to a new art project, so these really are the last of them.

That blurb on breast health really highlights the shorthand that I often talk in. ADD (a less exuberant form of ADHD) kicks in and half of what I am trying to say is missed as I leapfrog through my topic 😂

When I refer to the era of my first diagnosis, I am actually talking about the big PINK drive of awareness. Pink ribbons everywhere, constant chatter about the Big C. At the time, at 36 and with 3 kids in full swing, I was old enough to think I was wise and young enough to have no idea that I was not wise, that I still had so much to learn 😆

Thankfully, that big Pink Drive motivated me to do my own breast check, and things rolled forward from there.

It wasn’t easy. It was scary. But I remain grateful that I was able to make informed choices about my treatment and make use of the options that our incredible doctors and medical facilities in SA offer.

And that’s really why I’m sharing my story. Don’t let the fear of what you might find stop you from having your checks. You don’t need to know how you’ll handle the outcome before taking that first step. Have a little faith in yourself. 💛

A peep inside the Zara change room with me, including all the noise inside my head while I try things on! 😅

One of my clients sent me this message after trying on a pair of jeans.

Nothing about her body had changed.

What changed was her understanding of silhouette and proportion.

We spend so much time believing we need a different body, when often we simply need a different way of seeing the one we already have.

Silhouette first. Everything else follows.

I set out to film a quick try-on today, but halfway through I realised I hadn’t actually changed the outfit very much.

The chocolate tee and jacket stayed exactly the same. It was simply the scarf, trousers and trainers that changed the feel.

That’s why I love building wardrobes around versatile foundations. When your basics are doing the heavy lifting, a few thoughtful changes can create a different look.
