..so the IT player with the deepest pockets is really gearing up to "take over the world".. with their 'loan" of $2 Billion to OEM giant DELL... and annoucing Microsoft is also a OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) so what does that mean.. in my humble opinion - it means Bill's crew is really trying to take over the world.

So i been playing around with the new windows 8 phone - i can definitely see it surpassing the Blackberry enterprise solution; I see a brighter day for Exchange administrators (i know BB and exchange can cause you to pull your hair out) Just think about it..finally a phone/table that natively can seamlessly integrate. Now all thats needed is to convince BB fanatics to ditch em!

..question: why does people who often buy the latest computer technology - break it.. then when a technician assists them in repairing it..want to firstly tell the how to repair it...then secondly tell them how it should work. Just a word of advice...that technician probably knows more than you about computers, secondly just thank them for fixing it. Remember technicians do not manufacture your product and most importantly the sales agent where you bought it WILL tell you anything just so you would buy the product. Have a heart...give your techie a break...he deals with enough difficult customers already. .

..Ok .. its Exploit Wednesday; so people ensure your windows based pc's have got the latest windows security patches updated. Last nights updates contained a dozen or so vunrebility fixes for IE - also a Word flaw in the parsing of rtf files. Happy computing guys!

..My Government & SITA did it again: Some Moroccan hacker recently launched an attack on www.population.gov.za .. according to some news snippets..the site was up and running again!.. but behold..the site is still down. Sooo get this.. spokesperson for the department admited they are aware of the problem and is not disturbed by the fact that the hacker/s could have access to sensitive information - cause "..no sensitive information is on the site.." and "...we have logged a call with them [SITA] and awaiting a response on the matter.." ..so allow me to add.. im also gonna wait on a response.. hopefully before 2013!

Word of advice: If it sounds to good to be true it probably is! E.g. if you buy a 64GB flash drive at the traffic lights for 20 bucks - do you really think it'll work. No matter how good your I.T. Guy is he won't be able to fix that drive - and he will never be able to you a refund on your purchase.

..it is official Rwanda has the fastest internet speeds in Africa.. yes..you read correctly - with average speeds of 7.28Mbps, comparatively South Africa is running at a lowly 3.31Mbps. Ranking SA is even lower than Ethiopia, Libya ..Morocco..etc.

have a look see.. Microsoft will officially be launching Windows 8 on October 26 - yes thats like this friday...guess its time to adopt new tech.. and yes it will be availble for Intel based as well as ARM chips.. Andriod and Apple.. watch out!!

..Toolbars and Smiley: Strange how computer users buy the biggest lcd screens for their pc's..(so they can view websites better).. then go and fill half the screen up with toolbars/emoticon bars/smiley bars/news feeds.. practically reducing the viewing size of the websites on the BIGGER display to roughly the same size as the previous small lcd screen. (Computer users are crazy..)

had a number of queries in the last few days about the effectiveness of free antivirus products..and my simple answer is.."you get what you pay for" in the end its all about personal preferences, though a free antivirus is better than no antivirus. Remember any antivirus is only as good as its latest virus definition files...so keep them updated - DAILY!
