Heading to Cape Town for Africa Energy Week? Don’t navigate the ecosystem alone.

While official delegate lists are filling up fast, the key to a high-impact conference isn't just attending, it’s getting into the right rooms with the right people.

Our team will be on the ground during Africa Energy Week (AEW) to support ASBN members and international delegates in accelerating their strategic goals across African and UK energy markets.

Here is how ASBN acts as your operational bridge in Cape Town:

💠Skip registration friction and streamline your event access.

💠Direct introductions to ASBN member companies across renewables, oil & gas, engineering, finance, and legal advisory.

💠Connections beyond our immediate network to UK, Scottish, and African government, trade, and institutional stakeholders.

💠Invitations to select side functions, roundtables, and executive networking sessions.

Whether you're closing a cross-border deal or exploring new market entry, our team is ready to facilitate connections that turn conversations into commercial opportunities.

Heading to AEW?

Send us a direct message or drop a comment below to register your presence with our team before arrival.

In her latest Fairtrade Fortnight reflection, Tracy Mitchell, Managing Director of ASBN member organisation True Origin, shares key insights from her recent visit to fair trade producer groups in Kenya.

Tracy’s 30-year journey in fair trade highlights the vital connection between ethical trade, long-term impact, and cross-border partnership:

🔹Visiting partners like Meru Herbs demonstrates how trade combined with development support (via True Origin Partnerships) enables smallholder farmers to invest in equipment and process accreditations, opening up new international markets.

🔹Working alongside Transform Trade and local smallholders (such as the Nyeri Chai Tea Association) shows how combining commercial trade with producer capacity building creates sustainable livelihoods.

🔹Fair trade extends beyond labels and certification, it is built on enduring human relationships that empower communities to grow through their own work.

At ASBN, we are proud to see our members building meaningful, impact-driven commercial bridges between Scotland and Africa.

Every business hits a point where what got you here won’t get you there. The real question isn’t whether your business needs to reinvent, it’s whether you do it on your own terms, or get forced into it by competitors, AI, or a market that’s already moved on.

Reinvention Fest: 28–29 September, Boschendal Estate, Franschhoek

Two days working alongside 80 senior leaders on that exact challenge. You’ll be in the room with businesses who’ve already reinvented to stay ahead - and keep doing it - including SA’s leading female entrepreneur, *Magda Wierzycka, CEO Sygnia*. You’ll learn directly from *Dr. Nadya Zhexembayeva*, the world’s leading authority on business reinvention, and leave with practical tools to keep your business relevant and back on a growth trajectory. Includes facilitated discussions built for honest exchange with peers navigating the same pressures.

ASBN member rate: R19,125pp (groups of 5+) 25% off the standard R25,500. Single seats also available. Some ASBN members have already signed up 😊

Marking ASBN’s 80th international business leaders event, the evening will center around the theme Africa is Open for Business: Understanding Risk. Unlocking Opportunity.

In a special member testimonial session, Tracy will be joining business leader Raymond Setchfield (Secure Nexus) to share authentic, practical insights into the lived reality of doing business across borders. Tracy will bring a human, conversational perspective on:
🔹 Real-world experiences of growing a sustainable, Fair Trade business connecting Scotland and Africa.
🔹 How genuine relationships and strategic networks unlock commercial opportunities across complex markets.
🔹 The tangible impact and practical value of being part of the ASBN community.

This invitation-only gathering brings together senior business leaders, diplomatic representatives, Scottish Government officials, and trade media to rethink risk perception and discover new avenues for growth.

Looking forward to hearing Tracy’s story and insights as we celebrate the power of cross-border collaboration and opportunity!
