“Unbeatable Experience with the Best Guide”

“I had an incredible experience on this private luxury wine tour in Franschhoek. Ru-an was an outstanding guide from start to finish! He is extremely knowledgeable about the vineyards and the region, and you can tell he genuinely loves what he does.

I came in with a custom itinerary, and he offered a few thoughtful suggestions that ended up making the day even better than I had planned. What really stood out to me was how personal the experience felt. By the end of the tour, it felt less like I had hired a guide and more like I had spent the day exploring with a friend.

The pacing of the day was perfect. It is very easy to lose track of time in Franschhoek, but everything flowed effortlessly without ever feeling rushed. I cannot recommend this experience enough. If you are considering a wine tour in Franschhoek or Stellenbosch, this is absolutely the way to do it.”

Sometimes a delayed flight leads to an unexpected bonus day in the Cape Winelands. 🍷

With a much better idea of my guest’s tastes after our first tour, we started the morning at Rainbow’s End — a beautiful family-owned estate specialising in red wines, tucked away beneath the Stellenbosch mountains.

We had the deck entirely to ourselves, perfect weather, incredible views, and a lineup of excellent wines. The Cabernet Franc Rosé and Cabernet Franc were immediate favourites — and a bottle of each came along with us.

Next came one of the highlights of the day: an eight-course lunch at La Petite Colombe. My very generous guest invited me to join her, turning a spectacular dining experience into an especially memorable afternoon.

We finished high up in the Helderberg mountains at Uva Mira, with another tasting, breathtaking views and the late-afternoon light over the Winelands — followed by one last stop in Stellenbosch before calling it a day.

What started with a delayed flight turned into another unforgettable day in the Cape. 🇿🇦

A wild day in the Cape 🐆🦒🦁

We started at Cheetah Outreach with a private 30-minute cheetah interaction — an incredible opportunity to get up close with one of Africa’s most beautiful animals while learning more about their conservation and care.

Next stop was Giraffe House, which turned out to be such a pleasant surprise. Giraffes, snakes, birds, llamas and plenty of other animals made for a completely different wildlife experience.

From there, we headed to Vredenheim Big Cat Park, home to lions, tigers and leopards, with a quick tasting along the way.

We finished the day with a fantastic dinner at The Fat Butcher in Stellenbosch — a great ending to a very memorable day.

One of the things I love about private tours — sometimes the best days are the ones that weren’t planned weeks in advance.

A red wine lover’s dream day in the Cape Winelands 🍷🇿🇦

For this private wine tour, my guest from Mexico had a very clear preference: red wine only, boutique estates, and beautiful scenery. So that’s exactly what we built the day around.

We started at Dieu Donné in Franschhoek, taking in some of the most spectacular mountain views in the valley while tasting their wines.

Next was Mitre’s Edge, where we enjoyed a personal tasting of five red wines with the winemaker, paired with a selection of cheeses — a wonderful boutique wine experience.

For lunch, we headed to Bartinney, enjoying a charcuterie board overlooking the beautiful Stellenbosch vineyards and mountains.

Our final stop was Dornier, another stunning estate, where we finished the afternoon with more red wine and a bacon & brie flammkuchen.

One of the things I love about private tours is being able to tailor the entire day around what each guest actually enjoys. 🍷⛰️

A fantastic day in the Cape Winelands with a lovely couple visiting from Washington, D.C. 🇺🇸🍷

The day began with an early morning balloon flight over the vineyards, followed by a stroll through the charming streets of Franschhoek. We then stopped at Delaire Graff to take in the spectacular mountain views before heading to Stark-Condé, where lunch at the Postcard Café never disappoints.

To finish the day, we visited Uva Mira, perched high on the Helderberg slopes with breathtaking views stretching across False Bay. The combination of exceptional wines and incredible scenery was the perfect finale, and they enjoyed it so much that they ordered a case of wine to be shipped back home to the United States.

Thank you for a wonderful day, and I hope to welcome you back to South Africa again someday! 🍇🇿🇦

A fantastic day exploring the Cape Peninsula with a lovely couple from Washington, DC. 🇺🇸

We started in Muizenberg with a visit to the historic synagogue and the iconic colourful beach huts before heading to Boulders Beach to see the African penguins.

Next was Cape Point, where we hiked up to the lighthouse and continued all the way to the tip. I always enjoy guests who are keen to explore on foot—it makes the experience so much more rewarding.

One of the highlights of the day came on our walk back from the lighthouse when we spotted a puff adder beside the path, an incredible wildlife sighting that few visitors get to experience.

After lunch at the Brass Bell in Kalk Bay, we made our way back to Cape Town via the spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive, stopping in Camps Bay to take in the beautiful views of the Twelve Apostles.

Another memorable day showcasing the incredible diversity of the Cape Peninsula.

Another fantastic day exploring the Constantia Wine Valley with a lovely couple visiting from Indiana 🇺🇸🍷

We started at Buitenverwachting before heading to Constantia Glen for some great wines and beautiful views. Lunch was at Bistro 1682 at Steenberg, where my guests were kind enough to invite me to join them, before finishing the day with one last tasting and more spectacular scenery at Beau Constantia.

Great wine, beautiful places, and most importantly, great company and a fantastic vibe throughout the day. Days like these are exactly why I love what I do! 🍷🇿🇦

A memorable day exploring some of the Cape’s finest wines with a wonderful couple from Atlanta, Georgia 🇺🇸🍷

We started in Stellenbosch before enjoying a particularly special experience at The Wine Arc, where we had the opportunity to taste with one of the winemakers and hear more about the stories behind the wines.

From there, we headed over the mountains to the beautiful Elgin Valley for lunch at The Bloem Restaurant at Paul Clüver, accompanied by some excellent Pinot Noir, before ending the day at Oak Valley with a tasting of their outstanding Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

Great wines, beautiful scenery and even better company — exactly what a private wine tour should be about. 🍷🇿🇦
