🔥 HEAT-TREATED WELDS
Every weld on our Titanium frames undergoes a specialised heat-treatment process after welding.
The process takes 5–6 days:
• 2 days to gradually heat the vacuum oven to approximately 500°C
• 2 days holding the temperature
• Controlled cooling
• All performed in a vacuum environment with zero oxygen
This process is designed to de-stress the welded areas, contributing to the structural integrity and longevity of the frame.
According to Titanium Auto Gyro, this makes their Titanium frame unique among gyroplane frames in being correctly heat-treated to relieve welding stresses.
🔧 BOLTED FRAME DESIGN
The frame is constructed in three sections, bolted together using 5 mm Grade 5 Titanium plates and crush tubes.
This innovative construction eliminates the need for a continuous welded structure around the mast — reducing the potential for stress concentration and cracking in this critical area.
