We’re celebrating an extraordinary milestone for David Weber - 15 years at SOLIDitech.
Fifteen years is a massive milestone and David’s contribution to SOLIDitech over that time has been nothing short of remarkable.
His impact can be seen not only in the platform itself, but in the people, processes and standards that have shaped SOLID over the years. From key frameworks like the async task executor, SOLID wiki, and Core SOLID Menu and Navigation Framework, to countless other components woven into our day-to-day platform experience, David’s engineering fingerprint is all over SOLID in the very best way.
But David’s legacy goes far beyond code. He has played a huge role in mentoring and growing others, helping graduates become strong engineers and strong engineers become confident team leads.
He has a rare ability to cut through complexity, scope with clarity and build solutions that are both robust and elegantly simple. Whether wearing the hat of engineer, product owner, customer or business leader, David has consistently brought the kind of perspective and maturity that makes a lasting difference.
He’s also been the person so many turn to when things get difficult. High-stakes escalations, urgent client requests, tricky scoping conversations, complex migrations, tough technical calls - David has handled them with composure, intelligence and an unwavering commitment to getting the right outcome. Even while living in Australia for the past seven years and working South African hours, he remained a cornerstone of the team, showing a level of dedication that is genuinely hard to match.
David, thank you for 15 years of brilliance, mentorship, curiosity, resilience and care. You have helped build not just systems, but people, ways of working and a lasting standard of excellence. We are incredibly grateful for everything you’ve given to SOLID 💙
