The company was founded by husband and wife team, Bev and Geoff Scott. It began with Bev distributing biltong on her own from home in 2000. During 2006, her husband, Geoff Scott, then joined to introduce a sweets range and form the business under the name of sole Proprietor Distributorship. Nearing the end of 2008, Bev was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and their son joined the business, together wi
th their daughter in 2009, to take over Bev's duties in the business. She eventually stopped working as a field agent in 2010 and proceeded to run the business from behind the scenes. Cadbury's brands were then introduced into the business in 2010, to be distributed to fuel station convenience stores (fore courts) up until 2013. Mondelez bought Cadbury's and wanted only one national distributor. In 2011, Proprietor Distributorship was registered under the name of The Business Zone 2730cc. In 2013; Dragon Energy Drink was acquired to have products to balance the company's seasonal portfolio. Bev passed away in 2014, leaving behind a legacy of sound work ethic and excellent service, which most companies in the FMCG market failed to match - as told by her clients and suppliers. In 2015, Royal Biscuits was added to the growing basket of products. The Business Zone 2730cc strives to meet the standard of excellent service delivery, as achieved by our founding member, Bev Scott and it remains the foundation on which this company is built.
