REPOSSESSIONS of Motorvehicles and Household goods:

The public should exercise extreme caution. No debt collector, tracing agent or private person has the right to enter your private property or house.
ONLY SHERIFFS and DEPUTY SHERIFFS have the authority to enter your premises to reposess goods with a court order.
No debt collector, tracing agent or private person have the authority to reposess or remove your motorvehicle or household goods.
ONLY SHERIFFS AND DEPUTY SHERIFFS HAVE THIS AUTHORITY WITH A COURT ORDER.
What is transpiring lately is also not permitted and unlawful.
Attorneys acting obo the major banks, appoint agents and tracers to repossess the motorvehicles and household goods.
Agents have in their posession the ORIGINAL COURT ORDERS. They produce the court orders and the public is unaware that these actions are unlawful and infact illegal.
These persons must be reported to SAPS and to your local SHERIFF without delay.
DO NOT ALLOW THESE PERSONS ACCESS TO YOUR PRIVATE PROPERTY, EVEN IF THEY PRODUCE A COURT ORDER.
THE COURT ORDERS MAY ONLY BE EXECUTED BY A SHERIFF OR DEPUTY SHERIFF.

The role of the Sheriff is required when there are civil judgements against people who have failed to pay their accounts, their rent or municipal services and maintenance. They also serve documents in divorce and family violence matters

How do you know if the person knocking on your door is really a Sheriff?

All Sheriffs and Deputy Sheriffs must carry a valid Identification Card issued by the South African Board for Sheriffs while on duty and must be able to produce it on request.
