I have spent 18 years as an Art Director/Set Dresser/Stylist in the motion picture Film Industry, where I have developed a deep passion for colour, light, mood & texture...and for telling a story through the lens of a camera & capturing it in a single frame. I have travelled widely throughout the African continent & beyond, using a strong documentary photographic style - melting into the scenery,
watching & learning, becoming invisible to the subject at hand. When people are free to move naturally within their environment, unposed, in natural light...That, I believe is when the true magic happens! Now based in Cape Town, my work has evolved to include Lifestyle, Pregnancy, Children & Babies, Teens & Wedding photography. Choose something you love doing as a family in a comfortable setting or within your own home - a walk in the forest, a picnic, a swim in the river, a trip to the beach or a stroll down the street - and I will capture whatever unfolds. My photographs record the truthful beauty, spontaneity & emotion rather then anything staged. I believe that there should be no preconceived formula to photographing people & prefer to photograph things as they happen. My aim is to be unobtrusive & to allow the subjects the freedom to be themselves.
