COMMUNITY & SAPS SUCCESS 🚨

At approximately 01:31, a message was posted on the OAS SAFER Community Group reporting the theft of a gate motor.

SAPS immediately responded to the information received and acted swiftly. Their efforts led to the recovery of a vehicle found loaded with suspected stolen gate motors.

📢 COMMUNITY NOTICE:
If you have recently had a gate motor stolen, please contact or visit your nearest police station, as recovered property may belong to you.

A sincere thank you to our community members for being the eyes and ears on the ground, and to the dedicated SAPS team for their rapid response and commitment.

This is a great example of what can be achieved when communities and law enforcement work together.

This incident once again highlights why it is so important to be part of our OAS SAFER Community Groups.

Please be vigilant when going to a mall or shopping centre, as there have been reports of wallet snatching that is on the increase.
Here are some tips to avoid becoming a victim:

Stick to well-lit, busy ATMs inside malls or banks — avoid standalone ones, especially at night.

When withdrawing cash, shield the keypad with your hand or body.

Keep your PIN secret, and never count your money in public.

In malls, use a cross-body bag or keep your wallet in a front pocket.

Stay aware of your surroundings — don’t get distracted by your phone.

If someone approaches you asking for directions or help, be polite but firm and keep moving.

Park close to entrances, preferably in view of security cameras.

Walk with purpose and avoid isolated areas like quiet stairwells.

If you feel uneasy, head straight to mall security or a busy shop.

Stay vigilant, trust your gut, and you’ll drastically cut your risks.

Incident Report – Business Robbery

Location: Tuscany Total Garage

At approximately 06:00 this morning, a business robbery took place at Tuscany Total Garage while staff members and customers were inside the premises.

According to information received, four suspects arrived in a white VW Polo. All four suspects were reportedly armed. The suspects proceeded to rob the business of cash and ci******es before fleeing the scene.

SAPS members and forensic investigators attended the scene and investigations are currently underway.

We would like to thank all community members and residents who quickly shared information and assisted in reporting the incident. We sincerely hope that the suspects are identified and apprehended soon.

Once again, OAS : Outdoor Arena Security - answered the call.

A message was received regarding a break-in Maroela Avenue, and immediately our teams were dispatched. All our units, and support teams responded swiftly and successfully apprehended a suspect.
Without advanced technology, dedicated teamword these success stories wont be possible.

SAPS was informed and the property owner opened a case. Stolen goods were recovered and safely returned to the owner.

What makes this even more important to mention is that this was once again NOT an OAS client. We assist where we can, because safer communities benefit everyone.

This is exactly why we encourage residents to join our community groups, support the team that supports you, and become part of a security network that is actively making a difference.

With advanced technology, night vision capabilities, trained K9 units, and dedicated reaction teams, OAS continues to prove that proactive security works. We are not just talking about safety -we are showing it through action, results, and visible crime prevention.

Over the past months, we have seen major successes and a noticeable reduction in criminal activity in several areas. Crime may never disappear completely, but we will continue to ensure criminals know that our communities are protected, alert, and united.

Possible Attempted Housebreaking / Trespassing Incident – Dachill Surrounding Veld Areas

At approximately 23:33, suspicious activity was reported at one of our clients from the Duchill veld side. The Control Room dispatched all units, including Reaction Units, K9 Units, Drone Units, and additional support teams.

The operation was successful, resulting in the detention of both suspects after an extended pursuit. As often experienced in these situations, the suspects did not surrender willingly. Through coordinated teamwork involving K9 units, Reaction officers, drone support, and assisting community members, both suspects were eventually apprehended.

Part of our operational strategy is to push suspects back into open veld areas to minimise risks to residents and ensure the safety of the community during pursuits. This incident once again highlighted the importance of having residents’ correct contact details available, as one suspect fled through multiple properties after the first suspect was detained in the veld area.

The second suspect eventually entered the property of an OAS client. Access was gained to the premises, and the suspect was successfully detained. Both suspects were later handed over to SAPS after the lengthy pursuit and arrest operation.

We would like to thank the entire OAS team, the K9 units, Reaction officers, Drone operators, and community members who assisted in the successful arrests. Teamwork and community cooperation remain essential in ensuring that we can continue operating effectively, especially with K9 units in open veld areas.

Another successful operation by OAS in helping to keep the community safe.
