Suspicious things to look out for.
1. A vehicle that is driving unusually slow through the neighborhood might be looking for a chance or a adrss(Keep an eye on it if you can and inform your armed reaction company of the vehicle)
2. When people walk past your house and spend an unusual amount of time looking into your yard or if they change the route they are walking to look into a yard(Inform your armed reaction company)
3. Vehicles parked on unusual places not in the shade with occupants staying inside the vehicle (inform your armed reaction company)
4. If you drive through the neighborhood and see an open gate (inform the armed reaction company who's signs are on the gate/wall, if there are none inform your armed reaction company)
5. We all know what our neighborhood looks like and what looks out of the ordinary, follow your gut and if something doesn't look right rather inform armed reaction to make sure all is in order.
Lookout information:
1. When giving a lookout for a person please give a discription of how many people, race, gender, clothing they are wearing and anything that can be used to identify them, also give the reason you think they look suspicious (looking into yards, late night in the street, etc.)
2.Vehicle lookout
When giving a vehicle lookout the most important things to look for is make, model and color of the vehicle, if possible get a registration number and any identifying markings such as stickers, damage etc.
Home safety tips:
1. Don't leave anything of value visible from the street (bicycle, powertools, motorcycles etc.)
2. Lock your car even if it is behind a locked gate.
3. Don't leave doors open for air circulation unless they have a safety gate that is locked.
4. If you have to leave doors open due to the extreme heat we are experiencing rather use doors not visible from the street.
5. Test your alarm and panic button regularly (just inform your armed reaction company before you do)
6. Have an emergency plan for when something happens so everyone in the family knows what their responsibilities are.
7. If someone does manage to get into your house give them what they want your life is not worth material possessions.
Incase of fire:
1. Have a emergency plan to get you and your family out of the house.
2. Have a fire extinguisher for small fires.
3. Never throw water on a electric or grease fire.
4. You and your family should be your only priority material possessions can be replaced.
Incase of medical emergency:
1. Phone emergency medical services.
2. Check to see if patient is breathing
3. If patient is bleeding apply direct pressure to bleeding area.
4. Make sure dogs are locked away and driveway is clear for medical services.
5. Get information such as patients ID, Medical aid details, allergies, chronic illnesses, chronic medications ready for medical staff.
Don't panic it might lead to missing important information that the medical staff will need.
