βοΈ **SOLAR SMARTS β DAY 7 OF 10**
# # π° THE CHEAPEST SOLAR QUOTE MIGHT NOT BE THE CHEAPEST SYSTEMβ¦
Let's play a little game.
You get three solar quotes.
Quote A: **R120,000**
Quote B: **R145,000**
Quote C: **R175,000**
Which one do you choose?
**The cheapest one, obviously. Right?** π
Well⦠maybe.
But there's a small problem.
# # # A solar quotation is about a lot more than the number at the bottom.
Imagine buying a car like this:
> βDon't worry about the engine, brakes or service history.
> **It's the cheapest one.β** π
You probably wouldn't.
Solar deserves the same level of scrutiny.
When comparing systems, look beyond the headline price and ask:
π **What battery am I getting?**
β‘ **What inverter is being used?**
βοΈ **How many panels and what specifications?**
π‘οΈ **What protection equipment is included?**
ποΈ **What installation work is included?**
π‘ **Can I monitor the system?**
π **What documentation and compliance requirements are covered?**
π οΈ **What after-sales support is available?**
π **What warranties apply to the equipment and installation?**
And perhaps the most important question:
# # # **Are the systems actually comparable?**
A 10 kW solar system isn't necessarily the same as another 10 kW solar system.
Two quotations can have the same panel capacity but completely different batteries, inverters, equipment, installation standards and expected performance.
That's why we believe a solar quotation should make it easy for you to understand **what you're actually buying.**
# # # Here's the bigger picture:
A solar system is expected to work for years.
So the question shouldn't simply be:
> **βHow little can I pay today?β**
It should also be:
> **βWhat am I getting for my investment?β**
For a homeowner, that can mean looking at long-term energy costs, backup requirements and household consumption.
For a business, it can mean looking at energy costs, operating requirements, system performance and the value of keeping critical operations running.
# # # βοΈ Cheap isn't automatically bad.
# # # βοΈ Expensive isn't automatically good.
**The important thing is understanding the difference.**
And that's exactly what we're trying to do with **Solar Smarts**:
Give you enough knowledge to ask better questions before you invest.

# # # π QUESTION OF THE DAY:
If you were comparing two solar quotes, **what would you want to know before choosing one?**
π° Price
π Battery
β‘ Inverter
βοΈ Panels
π Warranty
π οΈ Installation
π€ After-sales support
Or something else?
