We are excited to share our experience of the Zondereinde Mining, Engineering and Mineral Processing Exhibition, an impactful engagement for our subsidiaries, Lesedi Drilling, Sekgwa Mining and SN Mining.

Day 1 started on 19 May 2026, and we were given the opportunity to engage with industry stakeholders, demonstrate our capabilities, and deepen key relationships across the mining and engineering value chain. The amount of interest and collaboration was genuinely encouraging, and we look forward to building on this momentum as we move into the second and final day today, 21 May 2026.

Thank you so much to the organisers for providing such a well coordinated platform for meaningful interaction within the industry. These opportunities are crucial in strengthening our commitment to the growth and sustainability of the mining industry.

Three lives will never be forgotten after the tragedy that took place at Lily Mine over a decade ago - Pretty Nkambule, Yvonne Mnisi and Solomon Nyirenda. More than mine workers, they were community members, providers, friends, and parents. Their families remain changed forever.

SSC Group honours the memory of the lives that remain buried to date by standing in solidarity with the families affected.

10 years gone, 3 bodies, 0 Justice.

More than ten years have passed since the collapse at Lily Mine on 5 February 2016. The remains of Pretty Nkambule, Solomon Nyirenda and Yvonne Mnisi remain buried underground, inaccessible to their loved ones who would like to bury them with dignity and to find closure.

Since this tragedy, there has been no urgency from the responsible parties in retrieving their bodies that are trapped underground.

At SSC Group, we remain steadfast in driving progress, honouring the lives lost, and committing to building a sustainable future for Lily Mine.

We continue to fight for accountability, and championing a new era of safety and responsibility in the South African mining industry.
