🚨 HUBCAP THEFT SUSPECT ARRESTED 🚨

On 27/05/2026 at approximately 15h58, our Control Room received a WhatsApp message from a client in Hendon Road, reporting that the suspect involved in the theft of motor vehicle wheel caps on 26/05/2026 had been spotted walking along Waterloo Road near Hendon Road before stopping at the corner of Alexandra and Waterloo Roads.

What the suspect did not expect was the speed of response from our vigilant Controllers, Armed Response officers, and K9 Unit.

K9 and P3 units were immediately dispatched and, upon arrival in the area, successfully located and apprehended the suspect in Waterloo Road before he could flee once again.

During questioning on scene, the suspect admitted that the stolen wheel caps were with a friend and that they had not yet managed to find a buyer for the stolen property.

Control immediately contacted Wynberg SAPS, who confirmed that a SAPS vehicle had already been dispatched. Wynberg SAPS members arrived on scene and took the suspect into custody before transporting him to Wynberg SAPS. Our Armed Response officer also proceeded to SAPS to provide a formal statement.

Further follow-up with SAPS confirmed that detectives were continuing their investigation regarding the recovery of the stolen wheel caps and the second suspect believed to be in possession of the property.

Excellent teamwork between our clients, Control Room staff, Armed Response officers, K9 Unit, and SAPS led to another criminal being taken off the streets.

🚨SUSPECT ARRESTED: ATTEMPTED BICYCLE THEFT 🚨

A swift response, sharp teamwork, and relentless patrol efforts led to the successful arrest of a suspect following a bicycle theft incident at Cape Racing during the early hours of this morning.

At approximately 02:10am, Romeo 1 alerted our Control Room after a request for urgent back-up was received from the Cape Racing Control Room regarding a theft in progress. Papa 3 and Papa 4 were immediately dispatched and arrived on scene within minutes.

According to Cape Racing Controller Sakhele, at approximately 01:58am two male suspects were observed entering the main gate and attempting to leave the premises with a client’s bicycle that had been stored on site.

Cape Racing security officers immediately gave chase. Although the suspects managed to flee the scene, the stolen bicycle was successfully recovered. CCTV footage and photographs of the suspects were then shared with our teams, allowing our Control Room to quickly compile and distribute a BOLO (Be on The Lookout) alert to all response units.

Our teams conducted extensive patrols throughout the surrounding area in search of the suspects.

Shortly after the BOLO was circulated by our control room, one of the suspects was positively identified as an individual already known to our teams and previously spotted earlier that evening in the Upper Kenilworth area by UKID response officers.

At approximately 03:40am, UK2 spotted one of the suspects near 306 Main Road and immediately alerted Control and Romeo 1. The suspect was detained and transported back to Cape Racing where he was positively identified by witnesses.

Wynberg SAPS were contacted and arrived shortly thereafter. Suspect was then placed under arrest.

⚠️ The second suspect remains at large and the BOLO remains active. Information received indicates that the outstanding suspect may be in possession of a firearm.

👏 Outstanding teamwork and communication were displayed throughout the incident by Cape Racing Controller Sakhele, the Cape Racing security officers, UK2, Romeo 1, all responding Princeton teams, and Wynberg SAPS.

This arrest is yet another example of how rapid information sharing, vigilant monitoring, and coordinated teamwork help keep our communities safe.

🚨 BREAK-IN SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN RONDEBOSCH 🚨

On Saturday, 24 May 2026, our Control Room received multiple alarm activations from a property in Grotto Road, Rondebosch. Initial contact was made with the homeowner, who advised that he was away at the time. Shortly afterwards, tenants on the property contacted the Control Room reporting that intruders were inside their garage.

Due to road closures caused by a marathon taking place in the area, response access was temporarily delayed. Despite this, our Control Room immediately coordinated alternative response resources, circulated suspect footage received from the tenants, and alerted surrounding security partners. 📹🚔

A special mention must go to Ethan, the Control Room Shift Leader, who played a key role throughout the incident. Ethan continuously requested updated footage and suspect descriptions from the tenants and, upon receiving the information, immediately distributed it to response teams and security partners via the operational groups. His proactive coordination and communication greatly assisted in the successful apprehension of the suspects. 👏

At approximately 12:40, one of the suspects was spotted by local security partners in Upper Durban Road, Mowbray, and was detained. Further investigation confirmed that a second suspect had also been involved in the theft of multiple items, including a laptop, tablet, wallet, bank cards, sneakers, and other personal belongings.

Excellent initiative was shown by Officer Yeki (P2), who requested that the tenant accompany him in the response vehicle, as the tenant was actively tracking his stolen laptop. Using the live tracking system, Officer Yeki and the tenant successfully traced the device to the exact location of the second suspect near Klipfontein and Liesbeek Road, where the stolen laptop was recovered. 👮‍♂️💻

✅ Both suspects were arrested
✅ All stolen property was successfully recovered
✅ The suspects were handed over for further processing

A massive thank you to our dedicated Control Room staff, response officers, neighbourhood security partners, and Rondebosch SAPS for the excellent teamwork and coordination displayed throughout this incident. 🤝
