A little history about MobiLearn

DIGITAL LIFESTYLE

Smart-phones are no longer just phones they are mini-computers. Owning a smart phone today is not only about making and receiving calls and messages, yet this is how the majority of the non tech savvy population have come to view their devices. It is therefore regrettable that these life changing tools are not sufficiently harnessed. Whilst this

may not apply to the young and tech savvy, it certainly applies to the great majority. FOUNDER AND HISTORY

Free Your Mind Technologies | fim-tee | was founded in 2007 by Dr Hasmukh Gajjar. Since inception it has been the vision to establish programs and projects that provide support and training to accelerate migration of the ubiquitous feature phone (voice and text) to smartphones - the internet connected and empowering technology; devices beyond basic voice and text to the potential of living near full digital lifestyle. Born, raised and educated in Africa, the calling to make a difference is all consuming! MOBILEARN AFRICA

Since 2016 Dr Gajjar and his team dedicated all their time and resources in creating training content in the form of videos and blogs to assist citizenry in unlocking the full potential of smartphones and other mobile devices. We are confident that the content we create and distribute, every citizen should feel digitally empowered to participate in the knowledge economy and embrace the dismediation caused by rampant evolution of technology. Now Africa has its own digital identity - dotAfrica. It is therefore with great pride that we launch our efforts has mobilearn.africa

Do your customers struggle to see the value of your technology? 🤔

On paper, Vodacom Smart PenSuite is a feature-rich ecosystem. At mobilearn, our challenge wasn’t to show every feature; it was to make people understand it instantly.

Here’s the reality: customers don’t resist digital transformation. They resist confusion.

Instead of leading with technical specs, we focused on real friction points.

This is where adoption happens, not by listing features, but by showing real impact.

If your product is powerful but hard to explain, the problem may not be the solution; it may be the story you tell.

How are you helping your audience move from understanding to action?

Ever had a great podcast idea that never made it past the planning stage?

When Ryland Fisher started Crossing The Line Podcast, his idea was clear, but production was the tricky part.

Recording remote guests, managing multiple tracks, editing for hours…it can quickly take the fun out of creating.

The good news? You don’t have to figure it out alone.

With the right team and setup, your voice can sound just as professional as your vision deserves.

For Crossing the Line, we handled the technical side so Ryland could focus on meaningful conversations.

“I enjoy working with the team at Mobilearn. They are friendly, professional and know what they are doing. I am honoured that they accepted to provide the technical support for Crossing the Line.” - Ryland Fisher, Host of Crossing the Line.

If you could get expert help with one part of podcasting, what would it be: recording, editing, or production?

Over the past 8 years, we’ve produced more than 1,000 videos, and the same challenge always comes up from clients:

👉 How do you take a complex topic and turn it into something clear, concise, and engaging?

That’s exactly what we set out to do in our project with the National Department of Health (South Africa). From planning to production, our focus was on turning technical health information into content that South Africans can actually connect with.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at the shoot 🎥

We’d love to hear from you in the comments: how do you think video can make public health messages more impactful in South Africa?

Plastic-based sanitary pads take 500 years to decompose, and billions end up in landfills every year.

We worked with Komani, a brand redefining menstrual health through reusable, eco-friendly pads, to bring their story to life.

Our approach was to use a powerful mix of animation and live action to:
- Explain the environmental issue
- Introduce the product
- Highlight the real-life impact
- And do it in a way that feels human, hopeful, and empowering

“It’s been such a valuable tool for us, and we regularly share it with potential donors to give them a clear, engaging introduction to what we do.” - Stephanie, Komani Co-Founder.

71% completion rate - 3x the engagement.
When we partnered with UCT’s Department of Medicine to take their intensive medical prep course fully online, we knew passive learning wouldn’t cut it.

So we blended:
- Self-paced LMS modules
- Live Zoom Q&As and MCQ sessions
- Real-time knowledge application

After 9 successful virtual events, the outcome was clear:
- 100% found the content helpful
- 79% now prefer the virtual format over the in-person sessions
- 71% completion rate (vs. typical average of 20-30%)

We’re curious - have you experimented with blending self-paced content and live Q&A in your online training?
What strategies have worked best for you? Let’s swap ideas in the comments.

Views alone don’t train people - connection does.

After producing over 1,000 training videos across South Africa, we’ve learned that resonance is everything, especially in a country with 11 official languages.

Our approach? Visual storytelling.

Why it works:
- The blend of visuals, tone, and music creates an emotional impact
- Sight and sound boost memory retention
- The brain processes visuals 60,000x faster than text, keeping viewers engaged

Instead of a simple Microsoft Office tutorial, we told the story of a small business owner navigating her day. It garnered over 1,200 YouTube views and elicited meaningful engagement.

How do you ensure your message resonates with 6,500+ delegates? By making the complex simple.

We worked with Vodacom to transform their Mobile Private Network technology into an engaging animated video for Mining Indaba, and the impact was massive.

âś… Engaged thousands at the Mining Indaba
âś… Created a versatile asset for multiple industries
âś… Turned several pages of technical content into a story anyone can understand

“No job is too big and they will go above and beyond to deliver quality work that everyone can be proud of.” – Lelanie Olivier, Marketing Manager at Vodacom.

Does your organisation need help explaining complex technology to key decision-makers? We specialise in transforming technical concepts into compelling visual content.

👉 What’s the most challenging concept your organisation struggles to communicate clearly? Share your experiences in the comments - we’d love to help you brainstorm solutions.
