The annual Hollywood Foundation KZN Youth Business Awards recognize outstanding young entrepreneurs in KwaZulu Natal who have established successful businesses that have made a substantial difference in both the economy and the local community. The 1st annual KZN Youth Business Awards will pay tribute to exceptional youth entrepreneurs who have built businesses in KwaZulu Natal with a significant

impact on the economy and the community. The KZN Youth Business Awards are designed to celebrate the achievements of youth-led businesses in KwaZulu Natal. They will give the winning businesses and finalists well-deserved recognition, but also a platform and opportunity to showcase their business and success. The Awards will connect expert organisations, partners and young people to develop and scale new solutions to the critical challenges facing underserved young entrepreneurs. entrepreneurs who have built businesses in KwaZulu Natal with a significant impact on the economy and the community. This Women’s Month, we celebrate Ayanda Khumalo, founder of , a Durban-based creative baking studio and pastry business turning a passion for baking into a growing entrepreneurial platform.

AyaDish has built a thriving community of home bakers through beautifully crafted cakes and desserts, engaging social media tutorials, recipe books and interactive baking masterclasses.

More than a pastry brand, AyaDish is creating a space where creativity meets skills development, giving aspiring bakers the knowledge, confidence and inspiration to develop their craft and explore opportunities within the food and baking industry.

Behind the brand is a women-led team including Nqobile Mkhize, Operations Manager & Chef; Slindile Dlomo, Pastry Chef; and Ayanda Khumalo, Director & Founder, supported by photographer Minenhle Buthelezi.

From Banking Leadership to Leading One of Africa’s Premier Convention Centres

Lindiwe Rakharebe brought more than 30 years of corporate experience into her leadership journey at the Durban ICC, having previously held managerial roles across South Africa’s four major banking institutions.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management Leadership from the University of the Free State, alongside qualifications in Marketing Management and Management Development.

Lindiwe's advice to entrepreneurs:
"Great leadership is not about doing everything yourself."

"Build strong teams. Create meaningful partnerships. Understand your stakeholders. Put systems in place. And develop an organisation capable of performing beyond the capabilities of any one individual.

Her breakout hit “Deeper” became a major success and saw her make history as the first woman in 20 years to win Record of the Year at the South African Music Awards.
