Today I was asked, what I would like to keep from my childhood. So many memories came to light. It was hard to pick 1 thing, yet there was something that kept ringing in my head for attention. No, it wasn't hide and go seek, although I loved the game. It wasn't going to buy sweets at the shops although that used to fill me with unquenchable excitement. Instead it was resourcefulness and working together. In my village/township, we didn't have soccer balls, tennis balls or any playing equipment. We would walk around the neighborhood looking for materials to build a play pan or to make our own soccer ball. We had so much fun just in the creativity process of ideation, building, seeing the end product and then enjoying the benefits of playing with the ball. Wow... It then dawned on me that I've actually been living that for the many years in my project management. Sure, it's more formalised now than during my childhood, but it still has the same process of imagining the end dream and the putting it into action via all the ideation, planning, ex*****on and benefits harvesting processes.
When you are running a project, it feels more complex than my simple story, but it doesn't have to be stressful. You can achieve a lot. I'm happy to share tips.
