We are committed to supporting education and addressing the skills gaps by offering a bursary in various fields of study, including (but not limited to):
• Accounting
• Engineering (Mining, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil – or related sub fields)
• Environmental science
• Mining
The bursary programme is for students who wish to study on a full-time basis. The bursary covers all registration and tuition fees, transportation, and meals. To be considered for a bursary a student must obtain the minimum requirements for admission to Bachelors degree, or meet the minimum requirements of the academic instruction. NRQ reserves the right to determine the suitability of the Academic Institution and/or academic programme.

The following documents are required in order to be considered for the first round:
• Statement of Results
• CV (2 pages)
• Motivation letter stating why you should be considered
• Name of preferred institution and field of study

There after we shall send the application form to shortlisted candidates in order to be considered for the second round.

Welcome to Flanders Quarry
Based in Mount Edgecombe (off Flanders Drive) and central to all Northern Suburbs projects and development, Flanders Quarry is a fully licensed operation that produces and supplies top quality aggregates, and stone products, from G2 through to G9 materials and 19mm stone to crusher dust. Reserves of Dolerite are mined, crushed, graded and screened to ensure that the end product meets both COLTO and TRH14 specifications. Total reserves are estimated at 1.2million metric tonnes.

Base and Sub-base material (which are typically used to support and strengthen structures ranging from pavements to roads and bridges) are produced by Flanders. The mining and crushing of durable and sound rock ensures that the product is consistent, reliable and of a high standard.

The professional management and staff also ensure that business is dealt with in an appropriate, trustworthy and efficient manner. Competitively priced, Flanders Quarry aggregates have been used in numerous large-scale construction and development projects, being implemented as both a fill material as well as for strength and support of large-scale earthworks and construction.

Mining and delivery capacity currently being around 4000 tons per day, Flanders is capable of providing for both small and large-scale projects. Flanders has a fully functional quarry, with all self owned heavy equipment (crusher, screen, excavators, front-end loaders etc.) as well as a fully certified weighbridge.

Flanders is a Certified Level 4 BBBEE company that employs from (and supports) the local Blackburn community, boasting an integrated development programme and community support structure for them (including an impressive vegetable garden that provides for them and their families), ensuring not only the sustainable development of the business, but also the growth and progression of the greater Durban area.
