Position: Customer Service Representative
Location: Johannesburg
Job type: Contract

Purpose of the job
To promote and maintain the image of the company via the call centre by effectively communicating with business clients across segments and assuring that their requirements are evaluated in an efficient and courteous manner, while ensuring that appropriate solutions are provided for problems presented.

Responsibilities
• Receive, handle, and resolve calls and tickets from business clients in a manner that exceeds clients’ expectations.
• Attend to queries and needs of business callers as required within procedures completely and accurately.
• Attend to all written correspondence via relevant ticketing and email management systems.
• Escalate any anomalies or issues of concern where there may be underlying problems.
• Draw up comprehensive action manager notes for all transactions.
• Educate business end-users about the organisation’s products and services and direct them towards available resources for self-help.
• Enter customer data on the relevant systems and maintain confidentiality of the organisation’s customer data.
• Maximise opportunities to sell and cross-sell products and services.
• Continuously improve knowledge around new technology in cellular telecommunications.
• Customer retention by offering alternative solutions (better offers, month to month contracts or prepaid migration).
• Handle cancellation requests and facilitate through business cancellations.
• Provide help with handsets and related queries.
• Perform ad hoc projects on an occasional basis as required.

Putting things in perspective.

Speaking from experience, the past 18 months have been challenging, with a rollercoaster of emotions (uncertainty, loss, grief, turmoil and many other issues). It all came to a head when I had a small trigger and I lost it. This was not a proud moment for me, I must say. The unfortunate person at the end of my anger and frustration was an insurance salesperson.

After calming down and a short mumbled apology, I realised that I have issues to deal with as well as decluttering my mind. I'll let you know how this goes.
