Hackers use your IP address to get an idea of where you're connecting from. Even if you only contacted them once, they can analyse your IP address any time after that... and it does not need to be in real time.

A VPN allows you to hide your real IP address from the websites you visit in order to stop them tracking you and creating a profile on you. It also stops your ISP from being able to keep tabs on what you do online. A VPN is an extremely affordable way to improve both your online security and digital privacy. Here are some options on the best VPN service providers for October 2020...

The fastest would have to be ExpressVPN, with faster streaming speeds guaranteed to have you watching online in full 4K/HD all day every day, it also works simultaneously on 3 devices.
This includes all major devices and platforms, kill switch hides your identity and data if the VPN connection fails.
Highly recommended at R110 per month this is definitely one to have by your side. https://www.expressvpn.com/order

Our personal favourite would have to be NordVPN, recommended by WIRED, Huff Post, BuzzFeed, Forbes, BBC and The Guardian across the globe this is totally a fan favourite. NordVPN was born in 2012 when four friends came together to build technology that could liberate the internet. They currently have a 2-year option for R62 per month which is outstanding considering you are getting military grade security for all your home browsing, streaming and work from home days. http://nordvpn.com/

Stay posted for more info and tips on how to browse safely online!

Have a wonderful day and make good choices😊

Happy Motivation Monday!
We decided to give a little peek into our virtual problem solving skills and one of the most asked questions people ask is:

What to do when your computer crashes during a major project?

So, the blue/black or white screen of death, most of us have encountered this wonder of Murphy’s Law at some point in our lives. What made it even more grim is that it happened on the night before a huge deadline, when your eyes felt like sandpaper. You are in shock, all those months spent perfecting, analyzing and creating…. GONE!

We at O Virtual have a few solutions for you.

Here is our step by step guide on how to tackle this pesky problem.

1. Computers and Laptops rarely tend to overheat but it can definitely happen if not kept on the appropriate surface. Touch your PC and check for any hot spots, if you do not find anything try turning it off and then back on, if you do find that your PC is hot place on a cold surface until it cools off. If this works save all your work, proceed with caution and try saving the project on a portable storage device… Just in case.

2. Things like this happen, even the best kept laptops have their moments. Take a deep breath and stay calm, this makes it a lot easier to find and solve problems.

3. If your PC is relatively UpToDate you would find that your PC may have automatically stored your work on the cloud so go check for back-ups, if not check your emails and your PC for any remnants of your work.

4. Tell your boss right away, we know it may be a dreadful thought but it is the most important. Your boss is there to help you and more than likely they’ve been through the same situation.

5. Take preventative steps to ensure you don’t end up in this pickle again. We personally love Microsoft Teams, you are able to collaborate from anywhere and you will never have to do that frantic, searching-for-files thing ever again. In Teams you can access Word docs, PDF files, PowerPoint and Excel files. You are also able to add your own personalized cloud storage in which to store all your projects, you can either privatize them of share them with colleagues in your network.

Cloud Storage Suggestions: Drop Box for business, OneDrive, Google Drive, Egnyte, ShareFile.
