8th UNESCO Youth Forum – Call for Youth-Driven Projects.

Youth and Social Inclusion: Civic Engagement, Dialogue and Skills Development

29-31 October 2013, UNESCO Headquarters, Paris, France

ELIGIBILITY:

Open to all young women and men who are members of a youth-led or youth-focused organization, project leaders or young entrepreneurs active in an established NGO.

UNESCO has launched a call for projects in order to identify and support 15 action projects (3 by region) which will be “certified” with the label “8th UNESCO Youth Forum” and implemented by, with and for young women and men between the 8th and the 9th UNESCO Youth Forum (October 2013-October 2015).

The UNESCO’s call for projects is open to all young women and men who are members of a youth-led or youth-focused organization, project leaders or young entrepreneurs active in an established NGO. These young people are invited to submit their proposals for an innovative action project in their community,

On 31 October 2013, the 15 projects awarded the “8th UNESCO Youth Forum” label will be announced and presented at the 37th UNESCO General Conference, in November 2013.

Business Development Manager West Africa

Job Description

As part of the company’s growth strategy we will soon be opening a new office in Accra, Ghana, West Africa to cover the ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) region.

Reports to Regional Development Director.

Main Purpose of the Job:

Manage all the business development activities which include marketing, sales and client liaison within the territory to ensure the regional business objectives and plans are achieved.
As the company’s senior representative within the Country you will be responsible for liaison with all area clients, sponsors, vendors and will hold the company’s Power of Attorney. As the company’s Power of Attorney, will deal with the country’s governmental, fiscal and local authorities. You will also act as an adjudicator for all conflicts that arise amongst the office staff.
Develop own personal scorecard of KPI measures that can be committed to and that support the overall group balanced scorecard.

Responsibilities:

Business Development
Take full responsibility and accountability for the marketing and sales function within country. This includes identification of project targets at budget stage, liaison with Business Unit management, relationship establishment pre-qualifications, market intelligence, pricing and budgeting knowledge, local network support, overseeing bidding activity, bid submission, pricing and market intelligence, feedback and winning and closing of orders.
In conjunction with the Regional Development Director lead the development of the annual budget process each year.
Participate with the Regional Development Director in the development and implementation of the regional Business Development plan to achieve Kentz annual budget sales targets.
Lead client liaison in country, as the senior company representative, and carry the theme to all clients.
Work closely with the Country BD Manager, Regional Development Director and Regional Business Unit management in identifying key business opportunities for the EPC, Construction and Technical Support Services business units.
Participate in client marketing in-country and internationally.
Participate in identification and formulation of project alliances and consortia and with the decisions to bid/not to bid.
Report on risk levels to Regional Development Director
Participate in and lead sales team.
