American Corner Durban invites participants to register for the movie screening of The Founder. This event is in recognition of World SMME Day, which is on 27th June 2024.

Target audience: Anyone interested in topics associated with entrepreneurship and business.
This in-person event will be hosted at our Innovation Co-Lab.

What is the film about? The true story of Ray Kroc, a salesman who turned two brothers' innovative fast food eatery, McDonald's, into the biggest restaurant business in the world, with a combination of ambition, persistence, and ruthlessness.

Last week, our American Corners Digital Literacy Class had the pleasure of once again being joined by American English Fellow, Ms Shana Lee. Ms Lee facilitated an informative session, which sought to help unemployed youth develop appropriate workplace readiness digital literacy and etiquette. The youth were highly engaged and expressed gratitude to Ms Lee for her continued support, her zeal for teaching and willingness to share her knowledge.

Yesterday, the American Corner Digital Literacy Class was joined by American Fellow, Shana Lee.
During her visit, Miss Lee facilitated an eye-opening session about drafting professional emails and motivational letters. All youth in the programme are currently unemployed, and this formed part of a larger objective to help these youth develop competitive work-place readiness skills.
