The shortage of skills remains a critical factor in our industry, as there is very little structured training being undertaken by the construction industry as a whole, and we at DTT have invested in skills development and mentor training on all levels on all our construction sites. We run internal training programmes for all the wet trades that we still undertake ourselves, as well as providing training facilities for our Management in order to improve both their building sites and overall management skills.

The goals of the Mentor Training are:

*To train and provide professional development to employees
*To speed up the learning of a new job and set of skills
*To reduce the stress of transition to a new career or to a new assignment
*To retain excellent veteran employees and keep their experience available as a resource for the organisation

Some of the skills trained on are Clerical Training, Brickwork, Sundry joinery and Carpentry, Formwork, Plastering, Setting Out and Site Safety compliance, to name but a few.
