I have never heard a success story that doesn't feature the word failure.

I have never met a successful person who hasn't failed multiple times.

I have never seen a leading business that hasn't, at some stage, got it wrong.

So why is it then that so many people are afraid of failure?

People go out of their way to avoid situations whereby they might fail. Why?

I believe it's because we feel that failure is a direct reflection of who we are, or aren't, and as such we don't want others thinking bad of us.

Yet how will we ever learn, how will we ever grow and develop if we never fail. The greatest lessons in life come from that which we get wrong, or fail to achieve at the first time of asking.

Failure is not a reflection of ourselves, but rather an opportunity to learn.

When we fall short and suffer setbacks we need to take time to evaluate what went wrong, identify what needs to change, and how we can prevent it from happening in the future.
