Fire safety is a critical issue in mines, and the regulations require mines to have fire safety plans in place to minimize the risk of fire and ensure the safety of miners in the event of a fire. This includes measures such as regular fire drills, fire detection and suppression systems, and emergency evacuation plans.

The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy is responsible for enforcing these regulations and ensuring that mines comply with the relevant laws and standards.

The services provided to mines by Woollatt & Clarke to date included performing extensive site-based inspections, followed by office-based gap analysis, planning and budgeting. The next phase will be to assist with the design and implementation of the remedial plan on all of these facilities in the years to come.
