NEW MRS INDIA SA DEFENDS ITS PRESTIGE.
The all new Mrs India South Africa pageant is not just a beauty and entertainment pageant, but has also become a prestigious and iconic platform that promotes and propagates women’s empowerment, social development, and cultural strengthening.
Since 2018, and under the new ownership and directorship of Anusha Thaver and Deon Ganas, the Mrs India SA brand has been uplifted and developed to give all south African indian women, from all walks of life, be it married; widowed; or divorced, the national platform to show off their cultural talent, let their voices be heard, and also the support to not only develop in a personal capacity, but also to give back to their communities and the nation at large.
However, since the 2018 success under its new administration, the Mrs India SA brand and its new owners have faced many challenges post-pageant.
Upon transfer of ownership and sales transaction between Thaver and Ganas, and the brand’s founders and former owners, Anusha Bisaal and Roshan Bisaal, there has been bitterness and conflict followed by numerous legal claims and accusations in the attempts to defame, damage and/or repossess the brand. Since the sales agreement in 2017/2018, between former owners and the new owners, for which all due diligence and legal documentation has been kept on record and presented, and all financial transactions have been received in full to date, there has been numerous attempts to reclaim ownership of the brand and its newfound prestige. Since the transfer of ownership to Thaver and Ganas, the new directorship has invested, over several months, a substantial amount of capital towards brand development, marketing, endorsements and sponsorships in order to promote the Mrs India SA brand as a prolific and world-class pageant event, for which the event held in 2018 was wildly successful in its ex*****on and publicity. This was accomplished by still honouring and fulfilling all legal, financial and moral commitments to its previous owners, who have to date accepted all financial transfers and received adequate acknowledgement of foundership. Thaver and Ganas have, only since their successful launch of the new and improved brand identity and event, been faced with unfounded accusations and attempts at legal loopholes, as well as numerous media smear-campaigns, in order to discredit them, incur substantial legal costs, and fight for the title of ownership they have worked so hard and paid a lot to achieve.
Above all this, the Mrs India SA directorship has also been faced with the task of having to dethrone and disqualify their previous 1st place winner, Saumya Tiwari Gautam, a medical doctor from Cape Town, for bringing the brand into disrepute, by filing her own legal demands and accusations, as well as resorting to negative media publicity. Gautam, since winning the 1st place title, has demanded prizes and remuneration that is not stipulated within the terms and conditions of the pageant and the winning title, for which all public marketing and legal agreements clearly indicated. Gautam has since demanded cash compensation for pageant prizes, and even went as far as demanding compensation for even her participation in the pageant, claiming that she has turned down employment opportunities in order to “participate” and fulfil her role in the pageant, for which the brand has never asked her, or any other finalist, to do. Due to her unrealistic expectations and misinterpretations of the pageant, Gautam has thus refused to comply with the stipulated terms and conditions, and has even fought against renouncing her claim to the title, even after disqualification and the appointment of a new 1st place winner. Gautam further attempted to try and have her title reinstate by the Durban High Court in 2018/2019, claiming it as a “matter of urgency”, however the case was dismissed, and Gautam reimburse the defendants (ie. Thaver/Ganas) for wasted legal costs.
The director and owner of the New Mrs India SA, Anusha Thaver, who herself was once a finalist of a previous pageant, is deeply saddened by the lengths and extremities of those who seek to defame the brand have resorted to, either for personal reasons, publicity or financial gain. Thaver’s primary objectives, being a woman; a mother; and a wife herself, has ever always to uphold, empower and develop the women of our nation, regardless of financial cost, personal gain or publicity for herself. The directors and owners of the all new Mrs India SA has faith and is confident in all their supporting evidence against all allegations, and that all legal proceedings will be resolved in a just and dignified manner, so that they can continue to uphold the prestige, dignity, and image of all women of our proud nation.
