We help you with structured guidance to give you clarity, direction and a strategy on how to transition confidently What started as a part-time business 8 years ago is now a full-time practice since 2019. My career spans over 20 years in major corporates and across various industries in South Africa. My professional experience in the different disciplines of Human Capital management (Talent Manage

ment, Learning and Development, Organisation Effectiveness, Change Management and Employee engagement) has provided me with a spring-board for a unique and holistic approach to coaching. This makes me relatable to my clients due to my understanding of their context. I apply a range of modalities and tools (NLP, GROW, Adult Learning, Change Management ) in co-creating unique solutions with my clients to ensure that we are able to create career path for them in which they are comfortable. The clients I work with are phenomenal and exceptionally talented women in their own right, who may at a point in time need an objective perspective and a nudge to shift to the next level of greatness.

I did a bit of research and asked professionals who are either starting a new job, going back to corporate after a career break, recently promoted, what they are struggling with the most.

The most common answer was: ' I have lost confidence'

Upon probing - none said: "I cannot do the job" - but what I heard them say was:
- I am overthinking decisions
- Everything takes longer than it should to produce/deliver
- I second-guess myself more than I used to
- I am mentally exhuasted
- I know I am capable but something feels off

This is not a confidence issue.

Transitions stretch our capabilities (of course we are operating at a different level or in a new context). Therefore our rhythm is disrupted.

This is a transition problem. And it impacts your momentum, judgement and self-trust.

Many professionals believe their challenge is confidence.

But often, confidence isn't the real issue.

The real issue is that they've stopped trusting themselves.

They've achieved success.
They've built experience.
They've overcome challenges before.

If this sounds familiar, you're not alone.

Career transitions, promotions, organisational change, and increased responsibility can all shake your sense of certainty.

The good news?

Self-trust is not something you either have or don't have.

It can be rebuilt.

It starts by recognising the signs, challenging the stories you've been telling yourself, and taking small actions that prove to yourself that you are capable.

Because the next step in your career doesn't require perfect confidence.

It requires enough self-trust to move forward before you have all the answers.

💬 Which of these 7 signs have you experienced recently?

Transitioning from the freedom of entrepreneurship back into the corporate world isn't just a career move; it’s a deeply personal evolution that often feels more like a loss before it feels like a gain.

Many of us go into this change thinking the biggest hurdles will be "practical", learning the new organisation's context, mastering different processes and software, building new relationships or getting used to a 9-to-5 rhythm.

In reality, the most human part of this journey is the "internal dissonance".
As an entrepreneur, your identity is often tied to your autonomy, the specific way you define success and the rhythm of your operations.

When you step back into a corporate structure, you aren't just changing your commute; you’re being asked to release the version of yourself that was successful in a different season. It’s an uncomfortable process because those old habits, the ones that helped you survive and thrive on your own suddenly feel like they don’t fit anymore.

This experience can be unsettling because it challenges our fundamental sense of self. We often think of growth as "becoming more," but as the true transition is often about "becoming different". It’s the "quiet work" that happens beneath the surface, where you have to figure out how to integrate your old strengths with your new reality.

Ultimately, at some point, we face the question that can make us feel vulnerable: "Who are you willing to become next?".

It’s a reminder that while the office and the title might be the visible parts of the change, the real story is about the evolution of who you are becoming in this phase of your career.

For a long time, the conversation has been about people leaving corporate.

Entrepreneurial pursuits.
* Pauses due to burnout.
* Career misalignment.
* Family responsibilities.
* The desire for more flexibility - and many other reasons.

And yes, that shift is real.

But there’s another, quieter movement happening that we don’t talk about enough.

Many experienced professionals are finding their way back into corporate.

As a deliberate, informed choice.
Not as a step backwards.

They are returning with deeper self-awareness, broader perspective, and a clearer understanding of what matters to them now.

Research from organisations like McKinsey & Company continues to show that career paths are no longer linear. Breaks, pivots, and re-entries are becoming part of how modern careers evolve - globally and even here in South Africa and across the SADC region.

And what I’m seeing more and more in my work is this:

Women are not returning to corporate to “pick up where they left off.”

They are returning:
• More self-aware
• More intentional
• Less willing to settle
• And deeply motivated to make meaningful impact

But here’s where the challenge comes in…

Returning is one thing.
Returning aligned, confident, and well-positioned is something else entirely.

Because the questions they carry are different now:
“Where do I fit?”
“Does this still align with who I’ve become?”
“How do I position myself without starting over?”

This is where a more strategic, informed approach to re-entry becomes essential.

Not just about going back to work -
but about how you return, and what you return to.

This is the work.

🌿 A New Chapter — Same Heart, Same Mission 🌿

Hey everyone — it’s been a little while since I’ve shown up here.

During my time away, I did some honest reflecting about my work, the women I serve, and the kind of impact I want to make going forward.

And one truth kept surfacing…
The professionals who reach out to me — especially those who’ve built rich, seasoned careers — aren’t just navigating career transitions.
They’re navigating identity transitions.

They’re figuring out who they are now — after stepping away from the corporate world for family, health, entrepreneurship, or simply to breathe.

That realization changed everything for me. 💫

So, over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing stories, insights, and tools to help seasoned professionals re-enter the corporate space with confidence, relevance, and self-assurance — not apology.

If you’re in that season of “becoming” again, I see you.
This next chapter is about returning, yes — but returning on your own terms.

Strategic Detours: The Leadership Growth We Don’t Talk About Enough

Every seasoned executive who stepped away from corporate life — whether to run your own business, care for a loved one, focus on health, support a child, or simply take a breath — knows the quiet resilience it takes to manage life beyond boardrooms and KPIs.

Yet when it’s time to return, too many are met with skepticism instead of respect.
Age assumptions, tech bias, and career gaps often blind recruiters to the kind of leadership forged in real-life storms.

Here’s the truth: That “career break” wasn't a retreat. It was advanced training in crisis navigation, emotional intelligence, resource strategy, and high-pressure decision-making.

I’ve seen what happens when women stop apologizing for their detours and start owning them. Suddenly, what looked like a gap becomes the very reason they’re hired.
Not in spite of their story —but because of it.

This August, I’ll be sharing a series of posts and insights to help accomplished women turn their journey into their biggest asset.

Because you’re not trying to fit back in — you’re stepping into leadership with depth, maturity, and lived experience that no corporate crash course could ever teach.

👉 Follow this series, join the conversation, and let’s rewrite the narrative together.
