🔥 GARDIER ALERT 🔥 *22 August 2026 | Eversdal*

Good Day,

This morning, a resident of Eversdal reported a suspicious vehicle driving in the area.

Armed Response Officers Muller and Williams patrolled the area searching for the vehicle. Officer Brian Muller located the vehicle in Somer Street, where he stopped it and called for backup.

Upon checking, the vehicle was linked to two criminal cases of theft in the greater Sondal area. It was found to have false number plates and an expired license disc.

SAPS and Law Enforcement were contacted, and the suspect was taken into custody by SAPS and the vehicle was impounded

We would like to commend the Gardier officers involved for their excellent work, and our Senior Dave Glover for coordinating with the local authorities.

On 27 November 2025 at approximately 13H00, Gardier Response Team Leader Dave Glover was busy putting up Gardier boards at a residence in Pennylane Nerina, when he was approached by a member of the public, Dr Bosch, who reported that his electric bicycle had been stolen from his offices on Biccard Street. Following this report, Officer Glover proceeded to patrol Columbine Road and Park Road.

During patrol, Officer Glover identified and apprehended a well‑known suspect riding an electric bicycle in Park Road. Dr Bosch was contacted and arrived on scene to positively identify the bicycle as his stolen property.

The suspect was detained by officer Glover, and arrested on a charge of theft by Durbanville SAPS upon their arrival.

Well done Dave! Another instance of Gardier personnel going the extra mile and again showing Gardiers' worth to the community.

Gardier is looking to employ the services of control centre operators for its Durbanville based alarm control centre.

The positions available will ideally be suitable for applicants keen on developing their skills as control centre controllers, and successful applicants will work under the supervision of experienced staff members. A basci knowledge of control centre operations will however be benefical.

Applicants who meet the following criteria will be considered:

- at least grade 10 school qualification
- Psira registed and grade C qualified
- good verbal communication skills
- proficient in both English and Afrikaans due to the demographis
of the area serviced
- ability to work under presure
- keen to learn and contribute to the success of the business
- able to function well in a team environment

Just another reminder that we have real life heros manning our control centre and operating on our vehicles. We received this kind comment from a community member recently:

Without him helping to get me to the hospital, I may not have made it as these low blood sugar episodes can be fatal for a diabetic."

Gardier has a vacancy for a Grade A Security Officer with supervisory experience in the Bellville area.
Minimum requirements:
1. Grade A Psira Registered
2. Valid Psira registration
3. No criminal record
4. Grade 12 school qualification
5. Preferably fluent in Afrikaans speaking reading and writing
6. Energetic and physically fit for security duty
7. Asertive and well disciolined.

On Wednesday 10 September 2025 at approximately 11am, Gardier Response team co-ordinator David Glover was on patrol in the Durbanville central area when he heard a gunshot in the vicinity of the corner of Wellington Street and Main Road.
He obeserved two persons having an altercation in the road, and one of the persons stabbing the other with a knife.
A bystander fired a shot at the aggressor, but even though hit by the bullet, the latter continued stabbing the other person before running from the scene.
Officer Glover requested the assistance of Gardier Unit Alpha 3, and after a short pursuit Officers Burger and Glover were able to apprehend the suspect and also recover the knife which he had discarded during his attempt to escape.
Both the suspect and the victim were treated on scene by the Provincial Ambulance personnel and taken to hospital.

Well done Officers Burger and Glover for once again assisting the Durbanville community and for your prompt and professional action.

We wish to also extend a word of appreciation to the personnel of the Provincial Ambulance Services for the urgency and professionlism with which they responded to this situation.
