It's sad how prayer has become a controversial subject due to the expectation of people on and off social media. This applies to both those who are asked to pray and those who are listening. Matthew 6: 5 is relevant for this argument on prayer.

May we never miss the essence and purpose of prayer! Know why and to whom your prayer is directed before anything else.

You should resist to change what you stand for because of your initial perceptions about the other. Sometimes people are drawn to you exactly because of what you want to change to "accommodate" them.

That's what they need from you! Give it to them and be yourself.

Have you noticed how "casual" prayer requests get a sudden response?

Question: Why then are responses to the most intense prayer requests delaying?

My observation:

1. God (uThixo) is still God who listens to our prayers.

2. He is probably waiting on you to get to another dimension that will prepare you for your next move (your desired prayer request). You are the subject in this instance.

3. God is building capacity in you...

The sudden responses should encourage us to dig deeper.

Living by faith is not a myth! It takes one to recall the consistent, solid and stubborn relationship they have with the Giver of life. So don't confuse unanswered prayers for lack of faith, all the time.

Since it's my birthday, allow me to share some pointers that keep one going:

1. Be content with the knowledge of being under God's hand. Things may not always work out your way but He still directs your steps nonetheless.

2. Guard your heart against animosity that has potential to withhold your peace and joy.

3. Always be true to yourself. That will help you fix the posture of your heart before others do it for you.

4. Don't despise small beginnings. Learn to develop a heart full of gratitude.

I give God the glory for the years passed and the years ahead. Cheers to another era of a simple yet blessed life.
