PAWSITIVELY GOOD COMPANY // Our Johannesburg team recently enjoyed a fantastic braai with our customer W2 Consulting Engineers.

And while we always love catching up with our customers, we have to admit that someone else stole the show… their adorable four-legged mascot!

A big thank you to the W2 team for the great hospitality, good company and, of course, introducing us to the cutest member of your crew.

Here’s to many more years of working together.

READY TO SKIP THE CRIMP? // Get hands-on with the Stäubli Original MC4-Evo ready, the PV connector that uses snap-in technology instead of a crimped cable connection.

Rubicon has 200 samples available for installers and EPCs to request. It’s your chance to explore the crimp-free design for yourself.

No crimping tool is needed. Correct cable preparation and Stäubli’s assembly instructions still apply.

Samples are subject to allocation and availability. A request does not reserve a sample.

BATTERY STORAGE THAT MEANS BUSINESS // Commercial energy storage needs more than capacity. Temperature control, safety and reliable operation matter too.

Available exclusively from Rubicon in South Africa, the WeCo A-KOOL range brings these priorities together in modular, air-cooled battery storage systems for commercial and industrial applications.

Built around lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, A-KOOL offers:
* Modular storage configurations to match different energy requirements.
* Active thermal management using air conditioning and heat-pump technology to regulate battery temperature and support consistent performance.
* Integrated safety features, including smoke detection, fire suppression, temperature alarms and battery management protections.
* IP55-rated cabinets delivered pre-assembled delivery to simplify installation.
* Monitoring through the WeCo NooR app to keep track of system performance.

Paired with a compatible inverter and suitable controls, A-KOOL can support backup power, greater use of on-site solar energy and management of peak electricity demand.

R7.5 MILLION WORTH OF CHARGING // Strong partnerships can go a long way – quite literally.

To date, we’ve issued more than R7.5 million in EV charging vouchers through our partnerships with and – helping more drivers get on the road and start charging with Rubicon.

Partnerships are an important part of growing South Africa’s e-mobility ecosystem, and we’re proud to be working with partners that are helping make the transition to electric mobility easier for their customers.

More drivers charging. More momentum for e-mobility in South Africa.

PAR FOR A GOOD CAUSE // Rubicon was proud to be part of the annual Plug & Play Solutions Charity Golf Day at Irene Golf and Country Club last Friday.

We set up on the 18th hole, where golfers could check out some of our EV charging solutions alongside a Geely Auto BEV.

Rubicon also sponsored EcoFlow prizes for the prize-giving – a fitting way to add a little extra power to the day.

Best of all, the day was in support of Building Little Legends, the charity beneficiary of this year’s event.

Thanks to Plug & Play for a fantastic event and to everyone who stopped by to say hello. A great day of golf, good company and giving back!

GET MORE FROM THE CAPACITY YOU INSTALL // Rated battery capacity and usable energy aren’t always the same thing. Depth of discharge (DoD) determines how much of the battery's rated capacity can be accessed during operation.

The WeCo 16K0-LV supports up to 100% depth of discharge, allowing more of its 16.06 kWh capacity to be accessed when the system is correctly configured.

Actual usable energy will depend on the application, inverter settings and warranty requirements. Rubicon can help you specify the right battery solution for your project.

ENERGY STORAGE IN ACTION // Another energy storage project is up and running – this time in Colchester, Eastern Cape.

For this customer project, WRB Electrical installed a Solis 8 kW inverter paired with a WeCo 16K0-LV battery, both supplied by Rubicon.

With 16.06 kWh of storage capacity, the WeCo 16K0-LV brings high-capacity, low-voltage energy storage together with integrated fire suppression, advanced battery management and IP66 protection.

Great to see another WeCo 16K0-LV out in the field. Nice work, WRB Electrical!
