Which vehicle was involved—and where should the footage review begin?

At an estate, office park or depot, a report may describe a vehicle without giving an exact arrival time. That can mean a lengthy review of entrance and internal-road cameras.

If an employee suddenly stops normal activity, appears confused or remains motionless in an isolated part of the site, they may require assistance rather than a security response.

📹 Visual monitoring cannot diagnose a medical condition and should never replace appropriate medical care. It can, however, bring unusual inactivity to the attention of a nominated site contact—particularly across large premises, during after-hours operations or in areas where colleagues may not immediately notice that something is wrong.

🤝 A clear welfare-escalation procedure should identify who must be contacted, what information can be shared and when a first-aider or emergency service should become involved.

A person may trigger a perimeter sensor and then move away to determine whether the alarm activates, how quickly someone responds, whether a guard investigates and how soon the site appears to return to normal.

This is why alerts should be assessed in context rather than automatically dismissed as false alarms. A brief activation accompanied by visible activity near the perimeter may require a different response from an environmental or nuisance trigger.

📹 Off-site CCTV monitoring can provide the visual information needed to assess what happened and determine whether the situation should be escalated to the designated security team or client contact.

Do not only ask what activated the alarm. Ask what someone may have learned from your response.
